Hannah Update

I must have missed the part where you guys said she was on cpap. Babies HATE that so bad that we often have to drug them to calm them down. Glad to hear she's not having to endure those huge prongs up her nose anymore. Once they pull the UAC line they'll probably let you hold her.

I'm sure they've told you this, but in case they didn't.... when you go in to spend time with Hannah, try not to stroke her skin. For some reason, that agitates the babies. I always tell my parents if they want to touch their baby to just reach in and place their hand on the baby.

I'm so glad she's doing better. It won't be long now and you'll be seeing more improvement... and then before you know it she'll be coming home with you!!!!

Well, I'm off to work AGAIN... I'll check in the morning for any updates. I will keep praying for you guys. I've mentioned you guys to a few people to add you to their prayer lists. You can never have too many prayers.

Grammy... I have some that are kind of like that. I'll ask mom or Tanya to take a close up of it next time I am in there. (It's Mom's and Tanya's turn now, LOL, only two at a time.)

Nancy, they did tell us yesterday about the stroking thing.... but this morning they told us we can touch her all over now lol we just can't hold her yet.

she is pretty sleepy today.... I'm sure it's probably a combo of the meds and having such a busy stressful day yesterday. But when she is awake she is a holy terror wreaking havoc on the nursery. The nurse tonight is a new nurse (to Hannah. she hasn't had the pleasure of working on hannah before tonight *evil grin*) and she said that the other nurse warned her about how feisty and strong Hannah is LOL so they have to keep a close eye on her to make sure she doesn't pull out any of her tubes.

AND she even had a BIG poop today. Also she hasn't lost too much weight considering she isn't eating right now. She was born at 8lbs 4 oz and they weighed her today (mind you she had the tubes and stuff still in) and she was 8 lbs 3 oz.... so minus the tubes she has probably only lost a few ounces. not bad considering....

Great news on the weight !! I'm soooooooo into this !!!! Does your Mom want to be called Grammy , Puck ?? I was Grammy to the dogs way before I had grandboys .... Ian called me Ga-Ga ( gag! ) but now at 13 has started to call me Grammy ( His choice ) I'm still Ga-Ga to Nash and will always be if that is his choice . It's fun what the babies end up with !! My Mom was Nanna ... my Dad Gacky . Tom's parents weren't really in my kids lives , so were Grandpa and Grandma . A friend of mine's Mother was called " You-Hoo" by her 4 boys .... started when she would come over at bath time with #1 ,,, open the door and said " you-hoo ! " . Ain't it grand !

Grammy... My mom wants to be called Grammy. My dad wants to be called "Grand Dad". Don't know why on either, but whatever they wat is cool with me. LOL


Just talked to the doc. He lowered her O2 to 2 liters at 30%. I can only assume that is the start of weaning her off the oxygen all together. Also, he said that they will start feeding, but not until tomorrow morning. Right now she is getting a high potency IV with vitamins and protein. She is also getting a slow injection of lipids. Hannah needs the fat so her body can absord the vitamins and such.

Things are going well... But we ain't gonna get 'cocky' about it. LOL However I know for Tanya especially that them feeding Hannah her milk is a big milestone. It will be even better when Tanya can nurse her, maybe Tuesday-ish.

We are heading home for the night soon. Tanya and Grammy are going back to the hospital tomorrow morning, but I have to go to work. So Tanya will not be updating until I get the laptop to her later in the evening. I need the laptop for work... Stupid job. LOL
