What is it with this cat? I put in a call to the vet. Even though he wanted me to wait forty eight hours for the steroids to kick in, I decided she just wasn't going to ever eat and was going to wither and die. I thought I would rather put her down than let that happen. Then I had the thought that she can't smell well. So I gave her some felovite from the tube and she went for it. Its smells strong. So I ran downstairs and opened a can of tuna and put all the water and some of the tuna in a bowl and...um..she ate it. So today I am going to run out and buy the stinkiest cat food I can find. Sardines or something.

Your story gave me the chills! That is really strange how the music box won't play when you tried it again!

(((((((HUGS))))))))

I hope Binanca feels better.

That sounds promising! When Charlie had pneumonia the vet told me to put tuna water on his food. She said part of the reason he wasn't eating was because he was so congested he couldn't smell anything. He started eating then! Give Bianca a scratch behind the ears for me.

I will CM thanks. I know she's no spring chicken but cats have been known to live longer in my home. I have no idea why. I will give it my best shot for her but tomorrow will tell the tale. After that, it really is too late to recover her. Cats that go off food for too long have all kinds of organs affected. Internally she really has nothing going on that's bad. In fact, her blood work suggests my vet doesn't believe me about her age. But I KNOW how old she is. And her problem is spinal now, like with old people. I think even her neck was hurting her. She really doesn't seem in any pain right now, just frail.

She's old Drmom. She's 18. The only reason I didn't put her to sleep is that her blood work is that of a younger cat, otherwise I would have sent her to the bridge. Her problem is orthopedic, so that's why we are holding off to see if the steroid shot kicks in. Her problem is she wasn't eating, probably because she was in pain, so she got very thin. Tomorrow is the day the decision gets made. She just ate a little again and is coming out to be with the rest of us instead of sleeping all the time, which is good. So I set up a little bed for her nearby and she's happy.

oh, I do so believe in communication (could tell some stories to you you wouldn't believe!)...and I think the music box was a message from your mom. I hope you are able to do what Bianca needs...whatever that is. *hugs* to you TM--I am sending good thoughts your way.

I can accept that it was a message. The things is, what message? I mean if somebody is going to send you a message after five years, it could at least be less cryptic. The music box played. For a long time. So what's the message?
