Kim looks about the same, just thinner...photographs don't seem to capture fur thickness well and she has a lot more coat than people realize. I mean she's 23+ inches and <50lbs...she's a lanky fine-boned girl. But she's so expressive that it even shows up in photos.

Mira...not as much. She's more expressive than she appears in photos but because she's all black and a LOT of her expression is in the motion of her body, photographs just don't do her justice.

Webster is probably the most different. His markings give him expressions sometimes that are not really true to life...and he's only 23lbs...most people assume he's around 50 or more from photographs, probably due to his build (his proportions are more normally seen in big dogs) and his coloring.

I think Auggie does and he's my dog, LOL. There's just something in his face that isn't captured in a lot of pictures. There are SOME pictures that capture it, but most of them don't.
I think you're right, considering I saw him in person once (or twice?) and it was bugging me that he looked familiar but of course I didn't know who you two were...then I came back here and I recognized him immediately in photographs...you do a nice job capturing him.

I think the face part is his eyes...because they are so dark in photographs, but in person those dark eyes have more life because of the play of light across them in real time.

Hmm, I don't know. I'd say yes, though. Chloe's probably smaller than people think.

I remember my friend who lives in California saying they found a dog, and that it was probably the same mix as Chloe because it looked just like her, but was much smaller. I saw pictures of the dog, and it did look a lot like Chloe. I asked how much it weighed, and he said probably 10-15lbs. Chloe's like .... 10lbs. XD I don't know exactly because the last time we weighed her she was about 8-10lbs but she was skinny and has gained weight, so she's probably more like 10-12. I need to weigh her bad, but I don't have a scale.

But also, I know her ears look big in pictures, but they are HUGE in person. :rofl1: And she has such a BIG personality. I really wish people from Chaz could meet her! When I finally get my license, I'm gonna try to make it to a meet-up.

And Violet's a lot CHUBBIER than she looks in pictures. And she looks pretty dang chubby. She's massive. XD It's so freaking' cute!

People are always surprised at how small Dance is in person. She's only 29lbs, and people seem to expect her to be a lot bigger. And if it's their first time meeting her, and they've only seen pictures, she looks goofier and more relaxed in pictures than in person until she gets to know and trust you.

People are always surprised at how petite and little Keira is, too. Most people expect Dobermans to be relatively large dogs, which Keira definitely is not. She's 24" tall and hovers between 57-60lbs. Not sure that they're surprised by anything else... I think her sweet nature is pretty evident in photos. If anything, they might be surprised at how zippy she is, haha. She has a hard time just walking anywhere - she always wants to be going at full speed if she can.

People are always taken a back at how big Ripley is. And how exciteable and overly happy he is. He's really not that big (unless you're not used to tall dogs I guess - he's slightly over 27" tall and 80lbs), but I think the energy combined with size can be a little surprising to people. He can be overwhelming sometimes. He's just such a happy-go-lucky, "I know we just met, but you're my new best friend", in your face, bouncy, playful guy... I swear he's a retriever trapped in a Doberman body sometimes.

Ronin and Kaylee are smaller than they appear in photos. Both are on the small side, which is odd that I somehow ended up with TWO small dobes!

I like their size though - nice and portable!

Lacey looks less crazy in real life... most of the time lol. And she is really long legged and lean, she looks like she has more girth than she really has. I have no idea how big you guys think she is lol, she weighs 47ish lbs.

Guess "they" are right when "they" say that the camera adds 10lbs, everyones dogs are TINY lol.

Bandit is bigger in person. Not in height but in bone. He's a thick BC.

Taking photos of Bimmer, Kharma and Tallulah is always frustrating to me because the photos don't look like my dogs, to me. It's also impossible to capture Kharma's aura of presence. Bimmer plain old dislikes being photographed and it shows, and Tallulah's face shows up as all hard angles and her musculature is obscured by the way the light plays off of her coat. She also has a winsomeness that doesn't come across.

At least that's the way it seems to me. Zoomer, Smkie and some of the others who have met Kharma can probably give a better answer.

I think Sierra translates pretty accurately into pictures. I don't think she surprises people anyway!
I think Sierra is more .... massive if you know what I mean. She is a much more solid chunk of dog.. that she seems in pics. If I haven't seen her in a while I am always surprised at how much dog leans into me :D
