Do your dogs like to unwrap their gifts?

Milo loves to tear the wrapping paper off and get at what's inside. Benji doesn't, and Cody never did.

I'm wrapping all non-family dog presents anyway, just in case they like to tear the paper off themselves.

Phoebe? Noway, she waits until we unwrap them for her. She is just not a pushy dog and she doesn't enjoy destruction, LOL

Orson? You mean the toilette paper tearing, napkin shredding, newspaper ripping King? Oh ya......he LOVES to open gifts! hahaha Last year he stole his presents and ripped them open before Christmas, I took them and rewrapped them and put them in BACK with other things piled on, hehehe..........we started out that way this year and so far so good :D

Yep, Winston likes to unwrap his gifts, our gifts, and anyone else's gifts that he can get his paws on, LOL. Last Christmas he took in upon himself to unwrap three of mom's gifts on Dec. 20th. Good thing I noticed before anyone else and got them all wrapped up again!

The other dogs don't like to unwrap stuff. Well, maybe Keira does. This will be her first Christmas, so I don't know what she'll do. Dance is afraid of all the gifts under the tree, and Spring has no interest in them.

last year they tore them open themselves.... so hopefully they will this year.

They get their presents on Saturday since they will be in the kennel over Christmas :(

But luckily... they don't seem to bother with other gifts :)

None of mine are, that I know of. I guess I never wrap their presents, and with so many dogs, we don't put the presents under the tree until Christmas Eve. :p

Dillon never bothers them, he is not destructive at all. Chase, well yea. He has a thing about paper, it was definitely made to rip, right:) We can't put presents under the tree until Christmas Eve and then lock the dogs up and hope we can keep the presents in one piece until everyone gets there:p
Our old Cocker never bothered anything but "HER" stocking, she always knew which one had her toys and she would get off the railing and open it.

Whisper was taught to leave gifts alone. Hershey just doesn't care to unwrap things, since he is an older guy. Whisper will unwrap them with tons of encouragement. lol

Bamm will unwrap things if he's not distracted by something else... You have to start it for him. I had to open his SS gifts for him though because my roommate had just sliced some cheese and he was all up in that kool-aid haha

I think that I get more enjoyment out of seeing them rip their gifts open, but since we egg them on, I'm sure they think it's a hoot themselves. :)

Probably. Pit liked ripping boxes and newspaper when he was a puppy last year, but he grew out of destructive behaviours as far as I can tell. Maybe if I pretend it's a toy he will rip it. Either that or I'll get an "I'm too old for this" look and will have to open it myself, provided I get him anything. I think I'm leaning towards no. :p

This will be Morgan's first Christmas so I don't know if he will open his own gifts. So far, he's left the tree and the presents completely alone... but I think that has more to do with the scary Christmas train guarding the base of the tree. :lol-sign:

Ticheli the Kitty-Boy Brother, however, has already enjoyed opening everybody's gifts this year.

Cheyenne (Golden Retriever girl, R.I.P.): Yes, yes, YES!! She loved opening gifts any time of the year and knew the word "present". We had to spell "present" in front of her because if you said it ... you better have one for her, and it wasn't possible to trick her with one of her old toys. She knew the difference. ;)

Spike (Wolfdog, R.I.P): Had to start them for him, but then he'd finish opening it himself. He eventually learned to start his own by watching Cheyenne.

Riley (Westie): Don't know ... it will be his first Christmas!!

Buddy (recently-adopted Golden): Same as above. He's had other Christmases, but this will be his first with us.

Both our guys above absolutely loved Thanksgiving though, both found out they are big fans of roast turkey. ;)

Yeah Milo doesn't try to unwrap our gifts or even his if they're just sitting there...he'll only open them if I kind of wave it in his face and tell him "it's Milo's!".

I have never tried lol. I usually unwrap it for them! I wouldn't want them getting into the habit of it, and us not being able to have presents under the tree ;). I know Harry would open a present though if there are tennis balls inside!
