Chaz Moms and Moms-to-Be Chat (everyone welcome)

Thanks!!

Time is a none existent concept to me currently. It's neither fast or slow. It's weird!!

Dizzy, you look amazing!!! I hope I look that good when I get knocked up lol

Thanks for all the advice guys :) I think for now I will just be reading, reading and more reading. Perhaps buy some used books on the subject of babies. Knowledge is power right? ha ha

Dizzy, you look awesome! I can't believe you're already 38 weeks along. Where are you planning on delivering?

We had a very busy holiday weekend, and Nora was SO good. Yesterday we went out to lunch and then spent the day at the beach. I am so impressed with Nora! She's 4.5 months old and teething.

Just a few pictures. I love being a mom. It's honestly the best thing I've ever done, and I value all of our time together. Even the fussy times when I'm up nursing her until 2am!

Hayley, that's awesome that you're going to TTC so soon! I know you've been with Tyler for a long time, so it's not like you're newly in a relationship. I was with my hubby for 6 years before getting married, and we were married for almost 5 years before really trying to TTC.

Agree. There's no right or wrong, but consider how you might feel if things take longer or you suffer any loss. If you're the sort of person who draws strength from having things around you then get buying!!! If you're not.. Hold off.

We waited till after our 20 week scan before we bought anything. And even that felt weird!!!! Even now I feel strange having a nursery full of things and no baby. The paranoia necer fully leaves!!!!!!

As for vitamins no point going mad, they say start taking 12 weeks before you plan to conceive. Took us 10 months to conceive. Just bear that in mind too...!

Ah so full of joy and light lol!

I'm 38 weeks this week!!! Huge and waddling but have had things relatively easy so can't complain :D just waiting now.....

I was nervous about buying anything (except small things) before I hit 20 weeks. I wouldn't have been able to handle looking at all of the baby items if something would've happened. We didn't start getting her nursery together until I was almost 9 months along. Even then, I was still afraid of the "what ifs."

I had an incredibly difficult birth/time afterwards, so the paranoia didn't leave until Nora was a couple of days old!

They get so big so fast don't they? almost 5 months already, seems hard to believe.

I can't believe that this time last year we were getting ready for Eli and still over a month away and now he's running all over the house.

How is she teething? My wife went teether crazy, he must have 100 of those things laying around somewhere, well most were just given donated to womens shelters because there was only 1 that he really liked, and he really liked it.

and this is it :)

Time as a Mom goes faster than time not as a Mom.

It's not even the "omg, I have no time to do this or that anymore"...I think it's partly there are so many "big" important moments and you remember them so clearly. Like, her first smile and giggle were over a year ago and I remember them SO clearly. Also, babies grow and learn at a speed that's hardly conceivable to me as an adult.

A year ago Lillian was just crawling...army crawling with all her effort and might across the carpet to get a soft little toy, and we got so excited every time she made a little coo or goo noise...now she babbles all day long, says about 50 words, runs all over, climbs stairs, climbs furniture, jumps, etc.

I remember so clearly "practicing" using her hands with her, encouraging her to reach out and grab a rattle or something...now she can stick a straw in a juice box and give me the thumbs up. It's just mindblowing. Two weeks ago I was shocked when she answered "yeah" when I asked if she was hungry. Now I ask and she says "Yes waffle thank you up"

It feels like watching a kid grow up in a movie montage. But it's real life, real time.

Ahhh thanks guys! I just saw my doctor (we don't see doctors at all during pregnancy, only midwives) and he just said 'if I'm allowed to say you look amazing' so I'm on cloud 9 hahaha I think pregnancy suits me. Wish there was a correlation between that and birth bwhaha!!!!!

Jessie my birth plan is very loose. Pretty much decide on the day :) I will stay at home if I can, and go to hospital if I need to/want to. I've got everything ready for all eventualities.

Nora is getting big!! But still very much baby :D

Jessie your daughter is a doll! Dizzy you look amazing.

And yes it goes pretty fast. Although honestly I like it better now, we can leave the kids while we take a shower and we know they will not destroy the house or kill themselves. Or when we visit people we don't have to stalk them the whole time and can actually sit and relax, lol!

Ok some things are still a work in progress but it's definitely better for me than a year ago... As you can tell I'm not really into the little kid stage, lol. Now if the whining and talking back could go away... but I hear that it lasts for a while :lol-sign:

All truth! I love seeing pics of Chazzerbabies growing up. Nora's becoming quite a little lady and those eyes! Huge and gorgeous!

Can't wait for you to pop Dizzy! :D

It's just amazing how time flies. I found out I was pregnant last year on November 2nd, and I didn't think time would go by quickly enough. I wish it would slow down now. I love this age.

Both of her bottom teeth are erupting at the same time. Poor kid. We have an arsenal of teethers as well. She prefers Sophie the Giraffe and a ring of teething beads. I went ahead and ordered that banana- seems like it would be right up her alley!

You're exactly right. Four months later, and Nora is no longer a "baby blob" like she was as a newborn. She can roll around everywhere, play with things, grab for the dogs, etc, etc. She loves to dance to music.

It's great that you seem so mentally prepared for your birth! You really do look amazing! I loved being pregnant. I felt the prettiest I've ever felt in my life :)

Day I went into labor:

I'm not sure how anyone can think pregnancy is ugly or gross. I worked with a woman who thought pregnancy was disgusting. I'd stay pregnant forever if I could! I was very small though, and Nora was only 5lbs 4oz at birth.

Thank you! Your twins are gorgeous. I can't believe they're almost 7. I remember your thread from when they were newborns!

I had Case a month early. And most of my pregnancy was great! I was not the least bit hormonal and my migraines were gone, no acne. All things that are usually awful for me!

But the last week was bad. The last less than twenty four hours I gained almost twenty pounds. That was on top of weight packed on the last week. It was a slow preeclampsia basically. I could barely bend a leg or arm. It sucked a lot. I will say I felt gross. After I had him I gained even more weight like a rebound effect but I don't know how much as they never weighed me. By the time I left I lost most of that. I want another baby but scared to go through it again as it put me and him at risk.

I think a lot of us have been lucky. One of my rl friends had the illness where she pukes non stop her entire pregnancy and she was hospitalized multiple times and it was not pretty. I am glad my pregnancy was as easy as it was lol!

I've gotta learn to get pics off my phone on here!!

My pregnancy was pretty boring. I will say that I didn't necessarily enjoybeing pregnant, but it wasn't horrible. I didn't have puking or nausea, did not gain much weight, etc.

To add to the pics, my kiddo will be 4 in two weeks!

Bolded bit ^ That was basically my pregnancies too. All 3 of them.
I still have to go to the hospital every few months since having my daughter. Needless to say - we're waiting until I'm healthier to have our next/last baby. Having my daughter was dangerous, there was a good chance I was going to bleed out and die when I had her - but I didn't!

Front page of ALL the national newspapers in the UK tomorrow are articles about the new NHS guidelines on birth. Basically all low risk mothers are recommended to give birth at home or in midwife led units as the evidence shows under doctor care in hospital there are far higher risk of intervention, episiotomy, forceps, c-section etc etc.

All the reading I've done has all said the same thing too. Medicalised births ain't good. The US and UK systems are already very different though. You guys have it very medical over there.

Fascinating stuff. Will be very interested to see what the public reaction is. I suspect people will have a hard time and there'll r lots of 'I needed to be in hospital because... Insert complication of choice'. What they'll miss is the evidence is saying those complications are actually a direct result of Doctor /hospital settings.

I'm waffling.....

My IUD is out! I had it taken out at a birth center I've been curious about for prenatal and birthing care since my regular doc won't remove them.

I loved the staff at the birth center and the facility is great - totally worth the hours drive (it's the only one in our area). It's nice to know that I have staff and a facility I trust for when the munchkin actually exists, now. :)

I'm preeclmptic. :( we're trying to hold off delivery for a week and a half so I'll be 37 when she comes, but I was 4cm and 20% effaced today. Definitely could use some Chazzer vibes right now, we're not ready yet. I've taken my sweet time getting things together and now it's crunch time and I'm all but on bed rest.

Super interesting stuff. I watched a few documents on the whole topic and found it very interesting. I think personally I would to do a home birth with a midwife if I can.

I bought my first pre baby book. About getting pregnant and that whole deal.
