A different issue, I know, but I assisted at a birth right here in the US with a twelve year old mother. And fourteen year olds by the truckload.

I really believe that when any child this young turns up pregnant, anywhere, there is no question there has been a crime committed. they really have no understanding of sex, pregnancy, or childrearing, at least not in any mature way.

I was at the OB GYN's office the other day, and there was an Arabic family there, the girl who was 17 if that, was 8 months pregnant.. She was the 2nd wife of a gentleman who was at least 40, maybe 45.. He had his son with him from a previous marriage and he was 13!!

I must admit I was shocked, and rather disapointed for the poor girl.. Being a mother at any age is tough, but at 17.. WOWZERS.

I find it all a bit disgusting to be honest..

Strangely enough, I am thankful every day I was not. I am SO SO happy to be South African. I don't know why and I can't explain it. I just am.
