Great pictures everyone!

Tollers are quite pretty. Love the rich coats.

Slades parents were just gorgeous. Very beautiful.

About border collies... I noticed some have erect ears and some are half-prick or floppy. Which is correct? Are both acceptable in the ring?

I believe anything other than floppy is considered okay in the show ring. Obviously nobody cared about what their ears looked like until very, very recently. I've seen plenty with full-flop going on;).

The Dobermans of today look more elegant and more attractive, imo.

The rotties of yesteryear seem to have a smaller waistline, but I wonder how much of that was the breed or the diet of that particular dog?

Boxers of yesteryear probably blew me away the most and look the most different than the ones of today.

I definitely think the GSD of yesteryear looks better and more functional than the AKC ones of today (please don't kill me!).

Since I lack knowledge of a lot of breeds, I REALLY hope the dogs of today are just as functional for their original bred purpose, as the ones of yesteryear were.

Me? Now I'll take an ADBA Pit Bull over a UKC one anyday (even though, I think most are bred to meet standards of both, but that's getting more difficult, so I'll take me an ADBA standard Pit Bull over UKC, kthnx).

Brussels Griffon

Here are some olden days pics of Brussels Griffons (or art):

First is a print from 1919:

They also were apparently used to sell cigarettes LOL

Look at this scraggly Griffon with this no so happy looking lady

And the Griffon of today (rough coat)

Red Brucie, whelped June 8, 1921, sired by Robinhurst Foreglow out of
Ree's Dolly. Bred and owned by H. E. Mellenthin, Poughkeepsie,

You can see some interesting changes in the GSD breed on pedigreedatabase.com. Just follow a dog back thru the generations and you'll see how they've changed. Lots of old pictures and some fantastic dogs.

Those are brilliant Reggin.
The boxer suprised me the most, they were almost bullmastiff looking before they changed.

The Neopolitans of today are way too saggy for me.

The corgi does look like they have shorter legs now. Not a huge difference, but its definitely there. A longer back too. Something I noticed.
Yea. Shorter legs + longer back = more back problems, less athleticism

They also got more coat, which sure does make them pretty

It's really noticeable with Ares and Morgan. I need to try to get pics of them. Ares is a throwback and Morgan is very correct proportionately (although slightly undersized) for today's corgis.

I love looking at these pictures! My breed (chihuahua) has changed a LOT. Over the past couple of decades, their heads have become more domed, and their snouts have become shorter.

Here are some of my breed:
