IMO I just really feel as if bill and hillary dont live as happy together as they make it out to be...
There is no way I could be completely happy with my husband of however many years for that to go down...in front of the country your husband leads

The fact that McCain is older than Israel somewhat bothers me. The fact that he sees no problem in being at war with Iraq for the next 100 years AND wants to go after Iran while he's in office, bothers me. The fact that he's publically admitted that he knows next to nothing about economics and doesn't seem to care overly much about health care REALLY bothers me.

I heard a quip referring to the 2000/2004 elections on the radio tonight that just made me giggle. "This should be the Official Republican T-Shirt-- "I voted against Gay Marriage and all I got was this lousy economy"."

I don't feel all that comfortable voting for Obama either...he's got awesome hyperbole and is a great rah-rah speaker. Everyone needs hope and there's a reason why motivational speakers earn 6 figure incomes, sometimes seven figures. Beyond that...I'm not sure how much faith I hold in his ability to get the job done. An Obama/Clinton ticket could have it's ups, but I also think the two will spend so much time vying for the spotlight while in office that they might as well set the next season of "Survivor/Big Brother" in the White House.

In short...I have no idea.
I completely agree. McCain really scares me, so I'm sure I'll vote for the lesser of the two evils which happens to be Obama.

How about you go talk to people who lived through it - first hand? When you get the same info from totally unrelated sources over and over and over again it's a good base to start from.

Then start digging. The info is out there. I've dug it up over the years as well as had a lot of one on one and even group time with the guys from that era who LIVED it.

And you haven't been around long enough to know this, probably, but a long part of my career has been built around fact gathering and sifting through bullsh1t. Let's see . . . you're 22 you said? Been doing it most of your life . . .

Oh, and the regular media? Yah, they're full of it. You think the Virginia shootings was an example? You should see what happens in a sensational trial. Dirty tricks doesn't even BEGIN to cover it.
Maybe the Virginia Tech shootings were very close to me because one of the kids I trained in the Corps was killed that day - the shootings didnt happen but a two minute walk from my Dorm.

My father lived through - so did his brother and my Mom's brother...my uncle was drafted...my father was not, and my mom's brother was already in the Army - I believe he went green to gold shortly afterward. I didnt say I was sifting through bull - I did say I was in the Guard, have experience in the Guard, know alot of the History of the Guard and know many who are far older and perhaps have had more experience. I know what my experiences have been in my very short life time.

And I dont have to be old or seasoned to be able to shift through information...I am a free thinker and have made decisions for myself. I learned that being the only conservative in a school full of people who beat at my views on a daily basis. I believe very little unless I have concrete data in front of me - I will change my mind...but frankly...sensasionalism and bull and whoha dont really do it for me.

I'll make sure to question a couple of the more seasoned fellas and the veterans I know.

Sarah - I think all those soldiers who died will have died for nothing, because I dont think that government can hold its own just yet.

Clintons lack of intervention probably caused 911. He never did anything about terriorism. And as far as sexual problems with Bill, the fact is- Hillary stayed married to Bill to remain first lady- both are opportunists..
You must be joking...right? How about Reagan and crew training and financing Muslim radicals in Afghanistan?

Several Presidents are at fault for ignoring the rise of Radical Islam all the way back to LBJ. The support of the Shah and the ignoring of the Radicals in Iran was a huge boost of the Shiite radical (and yes I know that this is a completely different group than the Sunni Al-Qeda)

You can even go back farther if you like to the Bargains the USA, Saudis made with the Wahabiist but in any event you can't put the blame of 9/11 on Clinton....no matter what Karl Rove says

The Guard now is a whole lot different than the Guard was then, Falconara. I've got friends who've not only gotten shipped off to combat zones from the Guard, but have been re-shipped again, right before they were due to be mustered out.

Back during Viet Nam, though, the Guard units were places where rich kids got to go to avoid getting shot at. Times change.
I thought anybody could join. I was too little to understand it all, but we weren't rich, and I remember my brother discussing joining on the of the Guard units before his number came up in the draft. He didn't want to be in either, and I still thought it wasn't foolproof that he wouldn't go into the warzone if he joined. I mean, if it did, I'm not sure why my parents weren't pushing him to do the Guard, and the definitely weren't. They were a nervous wreck waiting to see if he got drafted, but they were not encouraging him to join the Guard. I remember it being discussed, but they weren't jumping on it.

From that, I only figured anyone could join because we were far from rich. They must have at least made it sound like you could go to the war, but much less likely, or I think my parents would have been begging my brother to do it whether he wanted to or not.

I was 7-11 when he was 18-21, so I'm sure my memory isn't that great, but it was a tense, tense time in my house, and my memories are vivid if not accurate.

Sorry, but sexual escipades are relevant when it paints a picture of ones morals. Not only that, but when our President goes under oath, looks directly into the camera, and lies to his country...yeah, it's relevant.

Personally, I don't care for either Clinton. What they do in the sack, under their desk, or in the back seat is the least of my concerns. However, honesty, morals and integrity ARE my concern and both seem to be lacking in all categories.

Just my opinion, of course...

Yeah - but Clinton commited a crime and never went to trial for it - he showed that he was above the system that the rest of us mere mortals must answer too.

Just to clarify....Perjury is a crime in the United States. Saying you didnt have sex with that woman and finding male ejaculate linking to his DNA is lying. Well - unless she pulled it out of someone else and smeared it on herself o_O I guess you could use that as an excuse.

And perhaps we didnt find anything in Iraq this time...perhaps it was all gone - but let's not conveniently forget the chemical weapons we know Saddam used against his own people. Those are weapons of mass destruction...he killed alot of Kurds that way I believe. He was such a nice man after all.

There is a lot more to morals and morality than sexual activity. Some immorality has led to people losing jobs or losing lives. I would argue Bush is far more immoral than Clinton ever was.
And you have every right to believe that if you want. Just as I have every right to believe the way I do.

I voted for Bush. And I don't regret it. I don't think Kerry would have done any better. MY opinion.

And I am most afraid of how Obama is going to go about "ending" the war.

I just think Sadam or whomever has these weapons of mass distruction would be smart enough to hide them in some other country. I wouldnt be suprised if they were right here in our own backyards

Obama or McCain... either one will likely be a disaster. I'm not going to just blow it off now though and say I'm not going to vote. I just don't know who I'll be voting for yet. I have some homework to do on the matter.

whoever is prez, has a very unenviable job ahead of them. The last 8 years have not been kind to the US and sooner or later we're going to have to pay for the quick fix band aids and the enormous trade deficits, debt, etc that accumulated. We're in for some tougher times, dem or repub it doesn't matter.

Ah well, everyone's going to see things through whatever filters they choose . . . very, very few have the capacity or desire to develop the capacity to step outside of their own skin and examine life from a myriad of other perspectives, including those that don't appeal to their own sensibilities.

I don't see any light at the end of this particular tunnel that's not a train.

We need another American Revolution, but we're too lazy and too cowardly.

I've been following the elections going on in the states... and, if I could vote, I would vote Obama... mostly because McCain scares me. I mean, siriously, he would not try and end the war?
