I just like how this thread went from the dire predictions of our country to nitpicking someone's marriage...like that has ANY bearing at all about national politics...

lol - as much as I make fun of it I do have a wonderful man who'm I've been with a while (considering my age )

We're very similiar in alot of ways - views, faith, love, life - but we compliment each other temperment wise....I'm bombastic wheras he's more grounded...he's wound tight wheras I'm more relaxed. We kind of force each other into a happy medium...which really makes us both happier in general.

I think those kind of relationships where you can make one out of two halves are the most beautiful.

I know exactly what you mean. People find the "one flesh" thing "creepy" lol but they obviously don't really understand what it actually means.

Like you said.... I am very laid back and calm... I don't freak out about much (other than bugs lol) and Brian can get really over stressed about little things quite easily. Between the two of us we have a good balance. Sometimes I don't worry when I should and he worries when he shouldn't... so combined we are right in the middle and keep each other on track.

Perhaps comparing it to breeding dogs will help some people understand lol. If your dog is lacking in a temperment area you find a dog that picks up the slack to breed them with so that you have a good balance. It's the same thing with people relationships (at least with mine) Each person has their faults and sometimes they find a person that excels in an area where the other might not be so good. So while both parties have faults they can be almost "perfect" as a pair.

There is talk of Obama picking Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius as his running mate. I freaking love Sebelius and depsite my reservations about Obama, that pairing could have some mileage to it IF the conservatives are able to get over their coronary about a minority ticket and will work with them more than against them.

It goes back much further than that in this country, Check out the fued between Hamilton and Jefferson in the early years of this country.

Please explain? Not necessarily in relation to YOUR marriage, as I think we've criticized/questioned that enough in this thread. Just in WTF it means without it being creepy, because I don't know how anyone can say that without it being creepy.
