I've been in a bad enough financial situation that I've had to feed a pretty low-end food for a month or so, but none were as bad as Ol' Roy. I'm torn. I partly think I might if I had no way to feed my dogs otherwise, but if that's the case I also think I could feed them better with an assortment of food from my cupboards. If I could afford better, I wouldn't let my dogs near it.
I'd definitely take it in any case and donate it to a shelter or give it to somebody having trouble feeding their dogs.

I've been in a position where a free bag of Ol' Roy would have helped and I still chose to feed them oatmeal, green beans and blueberries I had stashed in the freezer until some money came in and I could afford to get them a bag of actual food again.

I felt bad enough going from Innova to Kirkland at the time.

So, no.

Not a chance! My dogs can hunt their own food if times got that desperate. I know PLENTY of dogs who are fed it their entire lives and they do just fine... But MY dogs? No thanks!

I would donate it. There is no "you can't donate it" option. I'd do it anyways. lol

And, I do have dogs with allergies. So they're just reinforcing my theory. lol

Absolutely not. I wouldn't feed it if you paid me!

Although, I might take it and give it to a friend - she could use it for her chickens.

I wouldn't feed it unless there were dire circumstances. I remember our family's first dog was fed whatever crap we decided to buy at the grocery store at the time. That included canned Ol 'Roy and even bags of Gravy Train. Let me tell you, that dog had the WORST FARTS I'VE EVER SMELLED IN MY LIFE.

This. I'm feeding Kirkland right now when I feed kibble, and I feel bad for it because I used to feed grain-free like EVO.

Costco has grain free food now called Nature's Domain... at my local Costco they didn't have it in the pet section though, they had it somewhere else to promote it. Try checking your Costcos, maybe give them a call or a letter if they don't carry it.

Its still pretty low protein. They replaced the grain with potato mostly. I think its better, but its not like the Evo/TOTW type grainfree.

I agree, if I remember rightly about 50% carb? But since I don't think it's much more money and because it's somewhat hidden, at least at my Costco, I thought I'd advertise it.

Not in a house not to a mouse, not in a box and not to a fox..I would not feed old roy to any living creature ever. Nothing really is free..ask Neccy what 12 years of red bag did to her.

LOL, my dogs totally eat more healthfully than I do.

I said no, and you couldn't pay me enough. It would be so bad for my super sensitive Bailey in particular.
