Beau will be put down if anything happened to me, he'd die of a broken heart before he ever adapted to another home.

Takoda would stay with my boyfriend.

If we both died then Bamm would have to be euth. I dont think he would handle being rehomed again well and given he does have a bite history euth would be the only option I want for him in that situation.

Cricket... Honestly... I'd prefer her to go to a Chazzer probably... Preferably someone who would be able to stay active with her and take her places with them a lot since that's the life she is used to and enjoys. I know my sister would want her, but she is in college and so busy with Softball and parties that I just don't think it would be a good fit.

I would want my dad and stepmom or my best friend to take Roxie. Not my mom--she is one of the most irresponsible dog owners I have ever met.

LOL! Are we related?!?!?! :rofl1:

If it were just me, then my husband would take care of the dogs (although I'm not sure who would take care of HIM).

If it were both of us, I'd want them to go to my brother.

Maddie would have to go to my Dad, I think. If I am not around, she's crazy about him, and he would take care of her like I would want because he knows how much she means to me.
Bailey would be too much for them, I would want her to go to my best friend. I haven't had the actual conversation with her, but I know she'd take her. She wants her anyway :p lol. If something would happen to me, they would need each other. Bailey is the queen of pining.

Buster would stay with my mum or brother. He's easy. Mum would happily take Quinn aswell but I don't know how long she could put up with her crazies. That said - she does adore her but I did tell Mum if anything happens to me and she can't handle Quinn I'd love her to go to an active, dog savvy home.

I think anybody I know would be happy to take Juno. And I honestly wouldn't care who took her because I know she'd be just fine.

The most obvious answer is that my mom would take her (which, if I dropped dead tomorrow, would basically mean Juno just stays where she is).

Both of my girls go to good forum friends of mine (both on here, but I didn't meet them here). Aija will be carted off to Equinox and Nellie is doomed to live with Thosewordsatbest.

ETA: The ferret would go...somewhere? Likely to the ferret rescue here as I know the guy alright and he'd likely take him, Thor could be rehomed easily but Soft on the other hand might actually be better off euthed. Shes already over 15 and very quiet and is afraid of people, rehoming would likely just stress her and lead to her death anyways.

This, and no one else is allowed to forget it.

I may or may not be secretly plotting this woman's demise. Of course, I usually don't wish ill on people I really like, but you know, this is Aija. I have a lot of love for that girl.

I have a sectional JUST FOR THE DOGS. She will enjoy her doomed life here.

If I went alone, then the dogs would have my boyfriend. My worry is that he will not find a crazy dog loon like me and while he LOVES the dogs, he is not their mimi. I do the dog stuff, and five would be too much for him. Shambles requires a lot of activity and he drives him nuts. Jonas is a problem dog, so we have talked about how he will adjust. I think he could potentially adjust just fine without me.

I guess my real worry is Elsa. She is separated from my dogs while we work on figuring out whether or not she'll ever like other dogs and my boyfriend is not equipped at all to work with her. She would be virtually alone and not progress. If there is not a no dog home looking for a project dog or a sanctuary/rehab center willing to take her if I die then she be euthanized, and hell I am still alive and haven't found either of those options for her yet. That absolutely kills me to say and I really hope I am not dying any time soon.

Eve has a few possibilities.

Probably the best scenario for her would be going back to her breeder, but her breeder is all the way in North Carolina and it would be a long trip home.

My boyfriend could keep her, but I don't know if the two of them would be the best match.

She could stay with my parents, who she adores, but they already have two border collies and would need to crate and rotate three dogs instead of just two. Eve is also a bit too much dog for them, I think.

The idea of sending her off to a chazzer is appealing.

I would definitely take Bamm. :) He sounds just like Gonzo! I think they would be besties, they have the same exact tail. I also want Frodo... I'm positive my dogs would love him. They looove sassy Corgis, and so do I.

I want Eve too!!! But I'd have to fight like 93847925457 people for her!

Gonzo and Fozzie would stay with my family. I honestly think my Dad would fight my Mom for Gonzo, because he grew up living with my Dad & I really think he wants to please him more than anyone on earth. My friends would all try to take Fozzie. I think he'd be happiest living with either of my older sisters; they have big house, big yards, kids and active, social lifestyles. I would hate for them to be torn apart though, so my Mom would probably keep them both.

Chloe would go to my sister. Violet would stay with my parents since she's theirs anyway.

If our family were to die, I'm not sure. Violet would probably go back to her breeder, and Chloe would probably go to our close friend, or possibly back to the foster we got her from. I hope I don't die though, as Chloe would really be unhappy w/out us. If my sister and I go somewhere she mopes, and if we leave her with a friend while on vacation, she mopes. :(

I've already told my family that if I pass away, they can't just pawn my animals off on whoever wants them.

Apollo would stay with mom. Chloe would probably go to my sister as I wouldn't wish her on Mike all by himself. lol If the ferrets were still alive, Mom would either suck it up and take care of them or they would go to the rescue I adopted Rinnie and Ruben from. Cid would stay with my little sister.

If Mike passed away (Heaven forbid), I'd take the rats and I'd fight his mom for Cynder. Gracie and Cooper I would probably rehome.

If I pass early then my spouse would take care of K and W. M would either stay as well or go back to her breeder...they'd have to work that out. I could see him deciding that 3 is too much for one person with a heavy work schedule and sending Mir -- by far the one with the greatest time & effort requirments -- to her breeder/co-owner.

If we both passed, Webby would go to my parents. Kim has a couple options -- a friend with Malinois would take her, she could road trip out to CA to live with RBark & Kobe which she would love, etc. My in-laws would take her in til a permanent position was decided. Mira's breeder/co-owner would drop everything and drive through the night to get her on a moment's notice if necessary because she's just awesome like that, and Mira would go stay with her either permanently or until a suitable working match was found for her.

ETA: I don't think Linds has answered so I'll answer for her: My dibs call would go into effect and Trav & Didgie would come to live with me.

And Laurelin, Mia could come live me too except I'm not so sure she would like living with my dogs lol.

People need to make sure that when they say yes I will care for your dog if something happens to you, that they really mean it. My Brother was suppose to be MR. Shaffer's backup home in case my Mother who is 87 should pass. WHen she fell and broke her hip however he could not take Mr. Shaffer because any excitement causes MuMu their shitzu to have seizures, so Mr. Shaffer came to my tiny apt with his big barking hound voice. Mr. Shaffer got a lot of training while he was here but I am sure the barking resumed as soon as he was home. So what if my Mother had passed? Then what?

I have no idea. I used to say my family but recently have realized that my family is not really a good long term solution for my two. My family finds them too loud and too hyper and too needy. They just don't really 'get' Mia and I think either a Chazzer or my instructor would be a better fit for her or at least would find her an appropriate home.
Mia obviously needs to come live with Izzie so they can take over the world together.

Yeah mine are confirmed -- Web's stayed with my folks several times and they mutually adore one another and they've offered to keep him permanently several times in addition to The Talk. I have a mutual agreement with my Mal friend to take her dogs or for her to take Kim if the situation would every arise. I was half-joking about RBark but it would be a perfect fit. And Mira's is both contractual and verified, plus I know her breeder has gone all-out to make sure Mir's littermate had a safe place to land when his owner fell on hard times. My in-laws are local and have agreed to temporarily take care for everyone til their new home can pick them up.

This is true. And why I am now going to verify that my mom has contact information for Tipper's rescue and for ABRT in case Mu needs to be placed. Although....hey PW want to take Mu in the event of my untimely demise?? I think she'd be freaking perfect for you.

Oh and what I forgot to say earlier - if *I* was the only dead one, Matt would keep the dogs. I don't know how well that would go but when I asked him about it he was adamant that he would keep all three of them. <3

I'm surprised by the number of people that would want their dog euthanized. I was reading about vets that won't euthanize a dog because of its owner's passing. They consider it unethical.
