Who do your pets belong to?

Suzie- Family. No one 'owns' her. In her heart, she's mine, but she still loves everyone else. Because they are human and she loves humans. And my mom is her second favorite. If she's not with me, she's with her
Sign- Isn't owned. My dad found her and brought her home, and he hates cats, so that was weird. But she doesn't have a favorite.

The cat is my husband's. I disowned her the second time she peed in my lap. Goldfish is Aurelia's. Both dogs are mine. Robert didn't want them and wouldn't have them except for me (though he likes them okay). It's too bad because Kaia would LOVE to belong to a man, and desperately wants him to be her person.
Really, they're all both mine and my mom's responsibilities. But I refer to Dance and Ripley as my two and Keira as my mom's. I bought Dance myself and have done everything for her since the day I brought her home, Ripley wasn't really intended as mine, but he was my payment for helping to raise the litter he's from, and Keira was bought as a family dog. That said, Ripley decided that he would be mine, and Keira decided that she would be mom's. They both love the our family as a whole, but it's definitely clear who their favourite person is. Dance is the only dog who was intended for somebody, and she's been 100% mine since day one. To be honest, I don't even know why Ki chose my mom as her person, since I've been the one to do most of her training, feeding, exercising, etc. She's kind of annoyingly obsessed with mom for no reason.
Legally, if it came down to it, all the pets are under my name. However...
- Rosey is the family pet. My mom pays for her food and her vet bills.
- Rascal technically belongs to me and my brother, and my brother will pay for vet bills or food if I need him to.
- Renegade and Harley are mine. Renegade was handed over to me with the understanding that he is to be mine, and Harley's adoption contract is in my name.
Obviously, if any of use are stuck though, somebody else pitches in for vet appointments/food/whatever. We all love the other pets, and we all pay attention (ie. I will often wake up and hear that somebody let the ferrets run around, I will walk Rosey, etc)
ETA: When it comes down to it, I have final say over anything with any of the pets. I really am the animal lover in the house, to everybody else, they can come or go. They all really like dogs, and most would like to have another after Rosey is gone (my dad likes pugs, my brother likes bulldogs, my sister wants a "little dog", my mom says no more
), but when it comes down to it, Rosey is not the best fit to anybody but me :lol-sign: I say what they eat, I make any medical decisions, and I am the one woken up at 3am cause she has not pooped in 2 days (yes, they decided to wake me up at 3am to tell me this)
If I was to move out, the ferrets would be coming with me. Rosey would be staying for the sole reason that it would not be fair to move her from the house unless EVERYBODY was moving.

Miss Kitty Fantastico is "my cat" in the fact that I'm the one who chose her and named her. And I was her person...before the dogs came. Once Bear entered the picture, Miss Kitty disowned me. She now spends the majority of her days hanging around my brother.
Kafka has always been my brother's cat. He adores my brother and just tolerates (if that) everyone else. He will feign affection towards people other than my brother if they have food.
Bear is my dog. He follows me above all else. He could be lying near my parents, getting petted and if I get up and go somewhere he will usually follow me.
Pig was supposed to be "co-owned" between my sister and me. If you ask my sister, she would say Pig is half her dog. Yet, if I am in the house, Pig is next to me. When my sister wants to spend one on one time with her it's generally done behind a closed door, otherwise she will usually come find me

My brother will occasionally kick in some money for the cat's food, but I don't think he's done so in a few months. My sister has paid for half of Pig's classes, but I pay all toy/supplies, vet and food related expenses.

Pax was gotten for my daughter who ignored him after a month, So he bonded to me, jack was picked out at the shelter by my So, and Puck was my choice. However they all seem to love me most. we share the feed, playing, training but all listen to me better and are doggie glued to me when i am home.

Fleetwood is mine and mine only. Gina is totally devoted to my mother, but unfortunately my mother doesn't return the devotion. I do the training and walking. Todd is everybody's dog, but Yuki has chosen my dad as her one and only. She won't eat or come out of her miserable little depression when he is gone to work...
The two cats that we've had forever (Midnight and Dutchess) are somewhat family cats, but I've been told that they have to go with me when I go. Cappy is Solely mine.

Murphy is mine - I got him before Matt and I got together and he always has been and always will be my dog. He does love Matt, he just loves me more. Mu is mine too - I am HER person and it's really obvious lol. She seems to view Matt as a giant toy/walking food dispenser. Tipper is shared. She loves both of us and doesn't seem more inclined to love either one of us more than the other.
I do all of the training, feeding, food buying, food choices, vet appointments etc etc for the three of them. Matt will do it if I ask but I'm charge of it.
Mu is mine too - I am HER person and it's really obvious lol. She seems to view Matt as a giant toy/walking food dispenser. Tipper is shared. She loves both of us and doesn't seem more inclined to love either one of us more than the other. If we are talking technically then Tucker, Neko, and Willie all belong to my parents as they bought them and pay for all their necessities.
However Neko was given to me for Christmas, so he was intended to be my cat and he behaves accordingly. I am his person, he loves me and I love him. If I sit he comes to my lap. He comes when I call him but not to anyone else (though really they just don't call him right). In the last few years however Neko has become more of an equal opportunity kitty and shares the love, especially once I'm in bed. My brothers get late night visits, my parents get early morning visits.
Willie was bought to be my parents cat because Neko was way more bonded to me than to them. Willie became my cat because my life revolves around my pets and they all know it. Both cats still interact with my parents, but they follow me from room to room. Willie has progressively become more of me and dad's cat and interacts less with everyone else, dad takes a special interest in him and he knows it lol. Since getting the dog Willie is starting to spend less time with me because he doesn't like to lay near the dog so won't cuddle on the couch with me (if I'm sitting I have Tucker on my right and Neko on my left).
Tucker was bought to be mom's and when I'm gone he is hers. If I'm home he's mine and he follows me around constantly. Like I said if I sit down on the couch he is on my right and Neko is on my left. He doesn't really care about dad that much, the feeling is mutual.
As far as responsibilities go I'm in college so they all get taken care of by both parents. Dad takes the dog out and feeds the cats. Mom feeds the dog. I don't know who does litter. If the dog gets walked it's mom's doing. However when I'm home I do everything except taking the dog out first thing in the morning. The dog destuffed his toy and mom said I should really hurry up and get on cleaning that up. Why it's my job more than hers I don't know. Clearly it's believed the animals are my responsibility. If they puke or poop on the floor I am told to clean it up (dad will sometimes do it because he's "the man of the house" so has to deal with gross things).
All tanked critters belong to me (hermit crabs, frogs, leopard gecko). Well actually the Leopard gecko was bought by my dad for me, but otherwise I've bought all the stuff and buy food. However now I'm in college so the hermits and Leo are cared for my my mom and dad respectively. The frogs are in college with me.

Hank, Tynan, Timber and Dallas are mine. I pay for all their necessities (vet, food, toys, collars, etc) except for Hanks food. Mike pays for Hanks food since he eats Orijin like Lincoln. He said he feels better paying for Hanks food since I care for the rest and I make way less money than he does, lol. Once I try raw with Hank again, I will be the one to pay for his food too. Timber's adoption agreement is in both our names, but I train, exercise, feed, and vet bills are in my name and I pay them.
Hank is both our dog in the sense that he's just there napping his life away and will snuggle with whoever is closest at the time. Tynan, Timber and Dallas are my entourage.

Auggie is mine. Before he even came home I asked my mom to clarify if this was MY dog or the family dog and she said he was mine. Apparently she said that but didn't mean it. She was apparently hoping to have me think he was my dog and then when it came time for me to move out I would end up in an apartment that didn't allow dogs so I'd have to leave him behind. That's not how it works. My dog. Mine is the only name on his pedigree and I pay for everything and always have.
Payton is mine but if he turns out, I am going to co-own him with Auggie's breeder so she can help me out with the showing and breeding stuff. I suppose if he gets too tall for show we won't co-own since he'll just be a sports dog...
Pepper belongs to Auggie's breeder right now but at some point we are going to put me on as co-owner and she will move back in with me. Auggie's breeder wants to put her in bred by in the ring so she'll probably do most of the showing where Pepper is involved, but the agility stuff or whatever else we do will be my responsibility, LOL.
