Our dog barks at anything through the night, trucks, motor bikes other dogs, the guy next door coming or going to work. Mainly when we say quite she just goes back to sleep unless its a rain storm. My mother in law says I should put my dog in the garage to sleep, not an option we have 2 cars in there no room really plus we live in Texas where its quite hot, then she went through a long list of places I should put her, in the guest bathroom, walk in closet, utility room. My mother in law says that dogs shouldn't sleep in the same bedroom as you, they should be shut in another room away from us, that way they know their place. I love my mother in law as long as she stays in the UK and I in USA, that way we get along quite nicely....

So where do your dogs sleep through the night?

I have 3 that sleep free in the house. They choose to sleep as near to us as they can.

The 2 puppies still sleep in crates at this time. They are 9 mos old.

Dekka sleeps under the covers at my feet every night. Snip sleeps under the covers if its chilly in the house at my shoulders. The rest either sleep in crates (as they are not trustworthy loose) or rotate to be bed dogs.

The old myth that dogs will not know their place if they sleep with you, is just that- a myth. If you already have issues with your relationship with your dog and the dog thinks you are sharing HIS bed-then that might be a problem. But for people with healthy relationships with their dogs, the dogs just feel cozy lol.

Where ever they want. We have two and they have never needed to be crated over night, they LIKE their sleep LOL

Our dogs are accustomed to sounds of living in town.....neighbors coming and going, cars, trucks, trains, neighbor dogs barking.......it doesn't phase them unless someone is on OUR property.

Wrigley and Honey sleep in their crates on the opposite side of the house--the bed is one place they do not join us.

Well, they can sleep wherever they want. Buddy and Bella 99% of the the time choose the bed. Banzai may start out on the bed, but most of the time he goes to the super-sized bean bag on the floor, which, has most definitely become his, I think it's cool for him with all of that fur of his. :)

Our Bed.... Or the kids.... Right Now Mindy and Di sleep with us, Max with my daughter and Foster with my son, though Foster usually winds up on the floor after a bit because he gets too hot. They slept in crates until they were fully housetrained though:D

With my JRTs I have 2 "unders" and 1 "over" which around here means under or over the covers....

My dogs throughout the years have always slept with us and I have not had any issues with it to date.

well RB used to sleep with us untill kiana came. we couldn't have 2 big dogs in the same bed with us it was too much. so now the sleep next to our bed, in the covers that some of you saw in my last post.

At first RB tryed to sneek in the covers, but then he got use to it and I think he likes sleeping next to Kiana.:D

In my room. Usually next to me on "his side" of the bed, head on a pillow, all stretched out. He usually starts out on my legs or up against me but i move a lot so he gets pissed and moves over.

Sometimes if i just toss my dirty clothes on the floor instead of in the hamper (ie...always) he'll sleep on those.

Ollie has free range . Starts off in bed with me , then moves to his bed beside me or on the floor if it's warm .......he may go to futon or hallway during the night , but always back in the bedroom by morning . The minute I get up , he goes to my place ....

Zeus has an ottoman in our bedroom, on the opposite side from our bed. Voodoo usually sleeps on the couch in the living room.

Luce and Mushroom sleep in bed with me. Harv had been sleeping in bed, but since it's been warmer, he's been too hot and has been sleeping on the floor or on the dog bed (or sometimes in the bathroom on the bathmat, or sometimes downstairs on the couch).

How much exercise does your dog get in a day? More exercise might help him sleep better and not be up so much at night.

She sleeps on her bed in the bedroom... occasionally she sleeps on the bed, mostly on weekends cause she bubbles and dreams lots... it seems I never get more than 4 hours of sleep when she's on the bed. Last time she fell asleep at my feet and when I woke up she was laying with her body on my pillow. Her snout was in Dan's face and guess what end I was snuggled up with. lol.
