I guess I don't quite understand how you can believe in the same God as I, but still not believe in Hell. Do you have any biblical proof to suggest tere isn't a Hell?
I will PM you a very interesting read :) and there is too much loose translation in the Bible concerning death, hell, grave and etc.........for me to believe that there is a fiery pit somewhere that people are going to be thrown into when they die :)

If everything was predetermind, wouldn't God have planned a suicide then??

Just thought of that now... So God knew they would kill themselves...

Edited in (cuz Tessa answered so darn quick :D): For those of you who believe in predetermination :)
Everything is predetermined and yes, he would know if you were going to do it, however you would (IMO) have an alternate route of life (another predestination if you will) should you choose to continue living. He wouldn't have planned it because he doesn't want his children to die, but he would know about it.

Wiat, you think God plans suicide? Perhaps he doesn't stop them, as that is their own free will, but he doesn't make anyone kill hthemselves...(IMO, of course)

Yes he knew and he had a reason for it....although we might not know it, their is a reason for everything...

Fictional
For example : What if a teenager was diagnosed with a disease (sp) and need a transplant or they would die.....God knows that this teenager will grow up to be a fixture in World history and will change something for the better...

On the other side of town, God knows that someone is getting ready to kill themselves....and omg they have the same blood type or whatever...

That suicide person died because it was predestined that the teenager would grow up to be very influental in the world.....

IMO of course :D

I beleive in fate
I do too. I never knew the difference between fate and destiny. I think it's something along the lines of fate is for example getting hit by a bus or breaking your leg, and destiny concerns the choices that you make in life and the path you choose to follow.

I don't believe I said he "plans" suicides. Did you read the last post? I said God doesn't want his children to die. We are predestined for certain things...if you commit suicide, regardless of whether you were predestined or not, you've sinned and will go to hell. No, he doesn't stop them. That's why I said there is another predestined route of life for them should they decide to live.

Very good explanation of the "suicide" issue. God doesn't want it to be done, but sometimes it is predestined to happen regardless.

Now, now tessa...no need to get rolly eyed about it. :) I hope you're kidding. At least to an extent. Hey, I never said I could explain it well...I was just trying to explain the best I could about what I believe. :( That's what we're all doing though. :)

Labbreeder, I am sorry. Your post made it come across as though you were getting hostile with me for not understanding what you meant(because of the "have you read my post" thing.. usually people say that when they are trying to imply another person is stupid and incapable of reading their post and understanding it).

I believe in God, heaven and hell.

I believe in predestination, but I don't believe all actions are predestinated. People have the free will to do what they want. We're not puppets. The predestination I believe in is eternal. Jesus said he came to save all that the Father gave him and that he would not lose one. Therefore, I believe he did save all that the Father gave him.

I also don't like for people to try to 'save' me (or anyone else). I don't believe people have that power, and I believe Jesus completed the work of salvation on the cross.

I believe it was preordained who would have eternal life according to God. I believe Jesus came to save all God's children, and that he accomplished that. That is the predestination that I believe in.

Since Jesus did the work of salvation, there is no need for people to 'save' others, and they wouldn't have the ability anyway. If people were required to assist in helping others receive salvation, human error would come in to play. I just don't believe God, as a loving Father, would let his children perish in hell. I think He will send punishment for our actions but He wouldn't let us perish forever. Believing this way, and believing that there is a hell, means believing that there are certain people who are not one of God's.

I dont believe in anything humans say is gospel. I see how animals live in the wild and thats how I believe humans were meant to live. I think culture has dumbed us down. Although we maybe more educated now than we were 2000 years ago, I dont really think that we are better off. We work for luxuries. Some of us put in long days just to put food on the table. The ancient people had it made. They could hunt and fish half the day and have the rest of the day to eat and goof off. They got way more sleep than us since they had no light. They got to have way more whoopie than us because it wasnt evil back then, and what else was there to do? I bet none of them said "I need a new SUV or plasma TV"

We have developed ways to save thousands of lives, we have developed ways to eradicate thousands of lives. We have made our lives very easy as long as you are willing to work countless hours for it. We have turned ourselves into livestock with almost no chance of survival outside of the machine. If there is a God and he created nature we have totally forsaken his gift to create our own. I dont believe there is a god. I dont believe in heaven or hell. I think when you die you fertilize the ground, feed maggots and continue the chain of nature.

I believe in God. I believe in the Bible and I believe that Jesus is the son of God. I also believe in angels and Heaven. I was raised by a religious family and I've experienced too many miracles to believe otherwise :)

I've been around people who live their lives by "The Book". Their whole lives! They have complete faith and never doubt.

It really truly amazes me... I must be too much of a "scientist", I'm one of those annoying people that "always needs proof", I need to see it to believe it. (not understand it though) I need to hold it in my hand and feel it, examine it before I believe.

I like cold hard facts.

So much of Christianity is just believing. Just having faith because...

I'll try not to offend here...

I don't have a belief. I haven't had one since I was 12 years old. I guess that makes me athiest, correct?

It is hard to explain, in my book, why I feel this way.

It's basically this... I find it hard to believe in.

I wasn't pushed into Christianity, I used to go to church quite religiously. I have even been saved.

As I grew older, I began to have doubts. Is it true? Please, don't be offended by that remark, it really went through my mind when I was younger.

I hope y'all understand...

EDITED TO ADD:

Roxy, you got it right on point. I am a bit scientific myself. I believe more in evolution than the Adam and Eve type deal.
