Bedlington Terrier (Baby sheep )
lol In looks, anyway! We had a Bedlington for a little over 15 years, and while he was a wonderful, dear dog, he was also a holy terror at times! Don't let the sweet look fool you, they are every ounce a terrier;)!

I would like to have more labs, and try different retriever breeds. I'd like a chessie some day, just not while sally is still around--i think there would be a personality conflict there.....

I'd also love to own a golden, a pointer, a GSP, or a Rhodesian ridgeback at some point.....

bernese mountain dog, doberman, australian shepherd, pit bull, daschund, and many more. I don't think I look for breed as much as for the right individual dog...but then there are breeds I'd be more drawn too and those who I'd overpass knowing they're wrong for me.

I might be too old already to get another dog because I don't want another one as long as I have the two Chihuahuas. Two is my new number....my limit. Of course, two really isn't two. It's three. I also have Tokie, my son's dog....at least for now...probably for a year or so until he finds a suitable living situation for a dog and for him. But, if I ever get another dog, I see myself with another Chihuahua or two or a Poodle. I've always been enthralled with Poodles. A standard Poodle really attracts my attention. However, small dogs might be the wiser choice, so a miniature might be best. There are so many attributes to little dogs.

There are indeed many cool breeds and of course, Dobermans will always hold a special place in my heart. But the way my life style these days has been evolving, I probably couldn't give a Dobe all he should have.
Poodles are GREAT and easy dogs. When I wanted one like 18 years ago (wow has it been that long) my husband said no way. Now he says that is the only breed he wishes we owned. Both mine were minatures and I don't have one complaint about them! They both did agility and were/are very easy to train.

As far as what breed I'd like to have someday... it's hard to say. After my last Akita I said "no more big dogs and never 3 dogs again" but look what I got?? LOL

Hmmmm... I really like my mix (whatever he is) but you don't always get this lucky with a mix (heck any dog mix or full bred). He is just so easy to train and wants to please. He only chew on his toys, loves people and other dogs. I could go on and on.

I guess since I will have these three for a while I will just have to wait and see how old I am before I can even get another dog. I don't want 3 again (said that before though) and my Poodle is 10 but my Chihuahua is only 4 so I am thinking it will be a while before I am down to only one, then I might consider another dog. I'm 38 so say 10 years my Chihuahua is 14, Reno will be 10 and I'll be 48... maybe then?? Who knows?

next couple of dogs will be APBTs...

after that who knows...a Doberman, Patterdale, and another Dane are certainly tops on my list though.

I don't truly want anything different. Tollers and Dobermans are about as perfect as dogs get for me, in different ways. I'd like to maybe have another Dalmatian someday, and there are other breeds I'll probably always admire from afar rather than live with (Belgian Shepherds, Leonberger), but chances are it'll be Tollers and Dobes only for me. :)

My next dog I would love to be a BC from a breeder, but considring I might still be living in this town it would be a waste to bring a dog halfway across the country and not be able to give it every oppurtunity.
If Im still living here I'll get a pound pup, one of the surplus of kelpie/ACD/BC mixes that there are here.

But I also want greyhounds, a dane, a bullmastiff, maybe a pitbull if I get stable enough to stay in this state. But I never want to be without a kelpie or a BC or some sort of working mix.

A bull arab sounds like some kind of horse, or horse/cattle hybrid.

Is you Dobermann with two "n"s somehow different that a regular Doberman?

Pomeranian
Chinese Crested
Rat Terrier
small "Benji" looking mutt

Interested in but not sure if I would have a chance to own:

Border Terrier
Tibetan Spaniel
Silken Windhound
Mudi
Kooikerhund
Norwegian Lundhund

just added an N by accident
the bull arab is an aussie breed of hog dog. the accepted story is the breed founder started w/ his two pigdogs named Bull & Arab. others replicated his breeding program to produce similar dogs. the original line was just english bullterrier, pointer & grey. others replicating the program used pitty instead of EBT or GSP instead of english pointer. also one breeder added a touch of bloodhound & another used an airedale lurcher. the last crosses outside the lines was between 10-15 years ago. since that time they have been linebred or crossed between the lines and a breed organization started.
ETA here is a good link for info
Bull_Arabs

coldbloods are unregistered bred purely for hunting and may have a touch of crossbred 10 or more generations back. hotbloods are registered dogs usually track dogs but show dogs are considered technically hotbloods too. show lines tend to be big & slow w/ poor endurance but better feet & skin than the track dogs which are usually smaller & have soft feet & thin skin and poor endurance but for different reasons. a descent coldblood can sometimes be made by crossing the two types but the better bet for a good hunting grey is to stick w/proven lines.

That's a pretty neat list Pops. No shepherd types? I really want to see a Mal, GSD or Dutchie (or mix, like KNPV dogs) used for hunting. I'm sure they'd be good for something, after all, you can train them to do pretty much anything, lots of prey drive and zoom. And they retrieve! Not sure about the courage/nerves deparment for lots though.

Here is something interesting:

What do you think, hunting guru?

Do you remember slamm/ Sam Nelson? He frequented the elpresa forum and sometimes posted on Bandog? Anyways, he what seem like some good presas.

I would love a Ibizan Hound. However, they are too big for me right now. However they remain my favourite breed of dog.

My next dog will be a toller. When... I'm not sure. I was hoping 1yr from now however that is always variable. Tollers definitely best suit my needs and wants for a dog.

The others I would like to have would be:
Chart Polski / Polish Greyhound (probably get one after my Ibizan Hound)
Tibetan Spaniel
Pomeranian
Central Asian Shepherd
Tibetan Mastiff
Hungarian Mudi
Belgian Malinois
