Hiya guys, just wanted to tell you what happened at my son's school the other day.
Just some background though, my youngest son Joshua is 14 years old. He is a quiet, passive, gentle boy, who has various learning difficulties, and ADHD, for which he is no longer on medication for now, and it's working wonders. He has come along in leaps and bounds He has just had a full assessment with the Psychologist, to see where he is at, and if anything new has developed. He is very behind socially, so doesn't make friends easily. Academically he is doing great, as he has the skills, just tends to be lazy, hehe as alot of kids his age are. Kids can be very cruel, and Josh misses alot of information, partly due to one of his deficits, which is receptive language and auditory memory.
Josh has made a very good friend, in an Autistic boy named Robert. Now although my son isn't Autistic, I guess some of Robert's manners and things he does, Josh can relate too. They are quite close, and Robert just adores all animals. He is a very good drawer, and often pretends he is different sorts of animals. It's very cute
Well last Friday, these two boys, who are right little horrors were having an absolutely joyous time, throwing stones at birds Joshua and Robert were horrified, and as you can imagine, Robert was set to kill lol. Instead my baby said, no lets go and report them, to which my son proudly did.
The result of these two nasty boys efforts, was a baby bird, who fell out of the nest, and the mother was the bird that the boys were throwing rocks at. She of course abandoned the baby, and Josh and Robert saw Crows circling trying to attack the baby bird. They gently picked the baby up, knowing that it was nearly dying, and put it safely in a bit of piping that was hidden in the bushes. Josh said to me when relaying this story, that although they knew they couldn't save the baby bird, they could at least make sure he died safely and in peace
I was just so proud of Josh and Robert. As Josh often doesn't understand alot of things, he knew that they couldn't save this baby bird, but also knew that at least if it was safe it could die in peace and relatively pain free. For a child that has so much trouble with reasoning, I was very moved and proud of him for achieving what he did
He couldn't believe those boys could be so cruel, to a living thing.
I just wanted to share this with you all
