Today the judge pronounced my parents to be the parents of the kiddos! :D  :thumbsupsmileyanim: They now have a 10 day wait where the biological parents can come forward and claim the kids, but that apparently doesn't happen very often. After that they need to get travel papers and legal documents for the kids, like passports, and then they can all come home! Things are looking good!

Oh yeah, the holidays are going to be fun! :D

Another update: The 10 day wait is over! My parents now need to get the kiddos new birth certificates, then wait for those, then wait for a tax code, then get passports for the kids, then get medical exams for the kids, and then get visas from our embassy for the kids. Still a lot to do, but they're getting closer to coming home!

The little girl, the 3 year old, got sick and has been in the hospital for 2 weeks :( and my parents haven't been able to see her for that whole time (the people in charge keep telling them that there's nothing they can do and that she'll be back "soon", so there's no need for them to go to the hospital, and they won't tell my parents which hospital she's at :() In the meantime, they've been getting to know the other two kids pretty well, so that's good.

How can they keep your parents from her when they've been legally pronounced her parents? I don't get what would motivate them to do that? Why would they want to keep the child from bonding with her parents, ESPECIALLY when she's sick. That's just strange.

Otherwise, congratulations to your family!!

This has brought tears to my eyes , your parents are such wonderful people. i will pray everyday that they have a swift return home and an easy transition.

Hopefully the little one will feel better soon.

So far so good for most of the children! Prayers and vibes for the little girl. I Would be worried sick, I am sure they are. That's a long time to be in the hospital.

Yeah, I think it's strange too. I guess they were waiting for the 10 day wait to be over, and they kept getting told that she would be back soon. However, it's been 2 weeks. That's not "soon" in my book. They're gonna go on Monday with their paperwork proving that they're her parents and make someone tell them where she is so that they can go see her. They were told that she has pneumonia, and she's recieving antibiotics.

Smkie, my mom told me that she's really grateful that they're adopting 3, because if they were just adopting the one little girl then they would be going crazy with worry! Luckily they still have the other 2 kiddos to spend time and bond with, so it's not wasted time.

Pits&Pugs, they're adopting from an Eastern European country. Where was your brother adopted from?

Thank you everyone for the prayers and vibes :) My mom has been blogging about the adoption, if any of you would like to read her blog, send me a message and I'll send you the link :)

I was going to ask the same thing Vanilla did, I hope your parents get to the bottom of it and find her, see her with their own eyes and KNOW she is going to be fine very soon!

*still sending hurry up paperwork vibes*

Yet another update:

First the bad, the paperwork for new birth certificates has been delayed, so they have to stay another week :(

And now the good, the little girl is all better and back from the hospital safe, sound, and full of smiles! And she remembered my parents which of course warmed their hearts! :)

Ah I see, Pits&Pugs, that's in the Eastern European area as well!

Looks like they'll be back on the 19th or 20th, thank God! I'm SO ready for them to come home, and their other kids miss their mom and dad so much. Who can blame them?

I wanted to give you guys this little excerpt from my mom's blog:

"There is one thing about a child with Down syndrome that you will never be able to differentiate from a typical child, and that is the giggle. Every one of our kids has an adorable giggle, and when Daddy wrestles with them, and tickles them, until they are laughing so hard they are gasping for breath, they have the most amazing belly laughs and the loudest giggling. If I could bottle that sound and sell it, it would cure the world's ills. As soon as they catch their breath, they come back for more."

:)
