responsibility is personal if you can maintain control over your responsibilities. when you can't maintain control, better the state (your peers) serve justice, than a jaded someone like me.
That is one of the most frightening mind-sets of all to anyone who wants to live as a free person.

Far better to deal with the occasional vigilante wackjob than to abrogate even one iota of personal responsibility - and freedom and power over our lives - to the politicians/government.

A LOT of the hype probably comes from people like my parents - who have never touched an illegal drug in their entire LIVES and VEHEMENTLY believe pot is a gateway drug. I've talked to them about it more than once but they don't believe me. After all, if it's illegal, it must be REALLY bad, right? Sigh....

Lets don't forget pot's medicinal purposes! There are people with illnesses that cause them extreme pain that's only relieved by toking up. I believe doctors can prescribe medicinal marajuana (correct me if I'm wrong).

I was going to say that too.

My mom's friend/neighbor suffers badly from this condition (can't remember what it's called) but basically she just constantly feels like her skin is being scratched and cut from the inside. Not a good description but it is extremely painful for her and they tried everything to relieve her pain and they can't find a cause. So she gets medical mary jane. But she gets hers in a pill.

I guess they better keep an eye on her... she's going to become a raging drug addict

I have a friend who takes (legal, prescribed) methadone for her pain. THAT is addictive. If she wanted to stop, she would have to be slowly weaned off or become violently ill.

Pot doesn't have that problem.

wow that's horrible. But it's OK because it's legal.

that's just like all these commercials for all these drugs. "Could result in high blood sugar, high blood pressure, seizure, thoughts of suicide, or DEATH"

But no one complains when people abuse these drugs and act irresponsibly... no one screams for them to be illegal.

Yes, they do.........you are not wrong :)

Hahahhahahaha!

I wanted to add that MJ is not just good for relieving the pain, it also serves another purpose in cancer patients.

My step children's grandfather is a cancer patient at the moment. He is in quite a bit of pain, and of course when you have constant pain you don't really think about food............as a matter of fact, you don't want to eat at all. Not only the pain, but most of the chemo treatments make you sick as a dog with nausea and vomitting.

Most, if not all of the "normal" prescribed pain meds either take away your appetite, or make you sleep.........either way, you are still not eating. Not only do you lose weight, your body doesn't have the "fuel" to fight the cancer along with treatments........it's just a horrid downward spiral.

He has MJ in pill form now, and before this he was losing weight at an alarming rate...........now he is regaining that weight quite nicely and has the strength to fight :)

Munchies can be very beneficial :rofl1:

Seriously.

And most of them are to treat non-lethal diseases.

:red_bandana: Will this one do, Erica?
LMAO! I considered that one. It's much too badass, though. :p But, I guess seeing as Michael Phelps is a heinous criminal now, it fits... haha. I think it would be hilarious to smoke with him. Imagine him with the munchies!

I think it's sad to question how much of a role model he is because of ONE picture of him smoking ganja. He obviously doesn't do it on a daily basis, he's too busy swimming for hours on end. He is also a young person, and a *gasp* human being! If we want perfect, shiney role models for the children, maybe we should build role model robots, because no one can possibly live a perfect life, especially with the media and creeps stalking them.
