I was organizing Elsie's ribbons/title certificates, and I'm missing all of her Rally advanced stuff. That makes me hope that I put the ribbons in the envelope with the certificate, but I have no idea where I put them.

Weird.

Yay summer! Now that my mom has some older daycare kids who are here on summer break, Cajun gets to stay home instead of coming to work with me, because she spends allllllll day playing with them outside. Everyone has a good time - the kids love chasing her and throwing toys for her, and Cajun loves to be chased lol and she's super good with kids.

And then I just get like 5 texts a day from my mom with pictures just like this.

Of course, why would anyone want to sleep on the cot. Sleeping on wood is way more comfortable.

To enter or not to enter Rally and Obedience with Journey next month. Entries close in like six days. I feel like she is ready, but is she? I guess the worst that can happen is we don't do well and try again another time. Dilemmas!

Why not? I'd probably do Rally before Obedience if you're having some concerns about her ability to perform, but that's just me. Rally is just so dang easy and such a good entry point for introducing a dog/handler to sports.

I feel like Obedience is a bit too structured and not inherently rewarding to the dog, and I personally wouldn't recommend rushing into it. Though, I had some enthusiasm issues crop up the last time I competed and it kind of scared me off it. I think we've worked out the kinks but I've yet to actually sign up for another trial. It's been years.

My musings on three dogs:
1.) Having a playmate for Abrams is awesome.
2.) Having three dogs follow me around the house is freaking annoying, although they all did find a respective spot under my chair/desk and fit quite nicely.
3.) I will never, ever, ever own a short coated, light colored dog. My couch is COVERED in short, prickly, yellow dog hair. Give me rolling dust bunnies of soft hair any day.

Cajun can be the biggest pain in my butt, yet... she cracks me up lol I love her. I'm in my bedroom watching TV and she came down and jumped on my bed tail wagging furiously, tongue hanging out of her mouth all OMG YOU'RE AWAKE! Then she jumped down, ran some zoomies around the basement, then came back and flopped down next to my bed. It was a cute greeting lol.

Now I get to go pick up my 25lb bag of ground chicken which I then get to split into individual containers and get raw meat all over myself in the process. I do it for you, Juno.

I agree with Sekah; I'd just sign up for Rally. It's such good ring practice! It's so upbeat and fun, it's really easy to make the ring a great place to be for the dog.

Big bad Auggie got to be my demo dog last night instead of Payton - I'd gotten into the habit of taking P because he's much less of a "finished product" and I always feel like it's nice to have a dog who's in progress, because my students would see Auggie and be like "OH MY GOD MY DOG WILL NEVER BE THAT GOOD OH NOOOO." But I had a class to teach first before my new class started and had to stash Demo Dog away and it's just much easier to stash Auggie.

Well, he was rotten. Rotten rotten rotten! I mean overall good but oh man did he fail at his stays hahaha. Such a naughty little guy. I had to tell the students "Uh, he's the old man, he gets away with murder these days and pretty much gets to do whatever he wants..." I never thought I'd see the day where I'd think "I should have brought Payton to demo instead!"

But then last night he was sooooo snuggly. Curled up against me all night, even when in the middle of the night I woke up and kinda poked him to get him to move off my legs, he wouldn't go anywhere, hahaha. And then this morning when I hit the snooze button, he moved to curl up against my back for MORE SNUGGLE. Oh Auggles...

Every dog I've ever owned, or bathed, has zoomed around the house for at least a few minutes after they get out.

Except Rigby.
Rigby, the dog that happily thrashes around like a moron in every single bit of shallow water she can find, turns into the biggest suck in the world after a bath.
Right now she is lying down calmly refusing to leave my side.

HOW ARE YOU GOING TO DRY THAT WAY DOG?!

Apparently miss Dog Sitting Dog is afraid of Michael. She was fine with him last night, but now he is The Devil. She's curled up on my lap on the couch sending him worried glances as he does the dishes. Hopefully she'll get over it, because I'm at work tomorrow and he's the one that will be home all day!

Mia does not bath zoomie either. She just curls in a ball and shakes post bath. Which makes her dry very slowly.
