I pictured myself looking like Malibu Barbie...with a different head...uh, and a different body. smeared the goo allllllll over my legs, ended up standing for hours cause I was afraid it would stain whatever I sat on, and wore little tiny shorts even tho is wasn't warm. for my trouble, I have delightfully orange legs....let's not forget the brighter color of my toes, which made me realize for the first time in my life that they have hair...which is orangish too. I followed the directions to the letter....thank goodness I washed my hands really well or they'd be like little pumpkins stuck on the end of my arms. think if I soak in the tub...like for a few days...I can scrub this off?????? not like anyone will see my legs (going out Sat., but wearing black pantyhose...OMG, what if there is orange glow thru the black????? LOL LOL) but they freak me out a bit. just imagine if I would have smeared it all over my face........

OMG! Maybe a long hot soak and then a brisk shower with a loofah and some kind of exfoliating cleanser? (would you believe - I am SO not a morning person I had to go look at some stuff in the shower because I couldn't think of 'exfoliant'?)

What to do

When I was in college, I use to have spa night which included a bottle of wine. Sunless tanner and wine do not mix. Needless to say, I always had problems. Sunless tanners can be awesome- I usually buy a higher quality, not to dark, exfoliate for two days really well, shave two hours before, put moisturizer on my knees and feet right before to dilute the color there, and make sure it is even, also don't do it when you are drunk...because even if you follow all of these rules it won't work. To fix it I used lemon juice and a salt scrub (not together). It never totally worked, but was a little better.

guess NOW is the time to drink the wine. THANKS, I happen to have some lemons...if nothing else, I'll be colorful and smell lemon fresh....sorta like my dish detergent. I will NEVER do this again...I'm probably showing up on radar.

clinique's self tanning is the very best! i have yet to turn orange and it usually lasts about one week. DO NOT use sally janson. a friend of mine broke out into hives. she looked horrible and felt worse (itchy and swollen). they did refund her money.

the nursing in me just has to say this to all you sun lovers out there..it's not worth it! There needs to be a pale is lovely compaign..at least we don't have to go back to the bonnet days..but there was a reason for keeping all that sun off your face..that is if you want to live past 35 and look good. i saw what was happening to my friends that hung out at the pool..i tan very dark and have good skin for it, but my gosh they were turning into leopards..a little is good i think, but too much and someone will be taking u in for your skin cancer treatments..oh my all the old farmers i trucked to the clinic with patches on the back of their necks and arms..oh my.

smkie...that's why we do this fake tan stuff..to stay out of the sun. Believe me..my face is the poster child for ghostdom (if that isn't a word, it is now) Which is also why I look more strange.....stark white face/arms........bright orange legs. Wonder how long it will be before they decide this tanning cream causes skin cancer? I'm staying in sweats til it is GONE. LOL

ROFL!! Ok I know I'm not supposed to laugh, but having somebody turn orange because of an artifical tan is just too funny!!! I'm lucky. I tan very easily. I'm darker than my mom who was outside mowing all day yesterday trying to get a tan, and I stayed inside most of the day! lol

i think the best thing about turning 40 for me..is now i could just be me, (not that i wasn't before but at least then i felt guilty) and look as i do. i am paying price for not wearing sunscreen earlier tho, and have some sun damage. I tried the bronzer stuff when i thought i wanted to pretty myself up in my 30's..now i think i will just be me, and i now think i can be happy with that..at least IM NOT ORANGE haha Think how good you will look in your paleness 15 years from now when everyone else have spotty ol wrinkly pusses.

LOL! That is for sure! We can apint a big white "T" on your forehead! LOL!

I am just teasing you! What kind did you use? Did you exfoliate BEFOREHAND? Usually if you do that, it helps with the orangeness. Or if you use the right color for your skin.... ;)
