So sorry to hear of your orange experience! I agree with Roni - Clinique is the best. I, too, am very very white - I've been called Morticia by more than a few, and I HATE laying in the sun. It's hot! So, on occasion I do try to sunless tanners - try Clinique the next time. Good luck, it should wear off real soon!

just don't laugh.......orange people hate that. LOL LOL LOL

LMAO Debi, your a hoot! Actually I think they have a support group called BOSS (Being Orange So Sucks) where they gather and provide support for orange people until the affects wear off. Look in your local listings for it. LOL sorry, couldn't resist.

The mental image of a bunch of orange people sitting in a circle is hillarious.

Anyhow, I go to a taning salon just a couple days of the week for a month to get me going for summer. Naturally, I'd burn then it just goes away without even leaving a tan.

You guys be careful about those tanning beds, please! I've got a nasty suspicion that at some point they're going to be linked to some connective tissue type problems. It's just kind of a hunch, coupled with having known or met a high incidence of young women who were avid tanning bed users who have since been diagnosed with lupus . . . Granted, it's easy for me to talk; red hair and all I still turn golden brown just by being outdoors or even driving with the roof open - sunscreen and all. But I've gotten a lot more careful and make sure I've at least got that SPF 15 moisturizer on before I go out.

Yeah, I know Renee. I know tanning beds do have some risk. I only do a 5 min. session each time and probably 8 sessions a year. I figure that it isn't too bad. I don't go overboard with them just for those issues. It actually saves me from getting burned during the summer.

That's probably a good balance. It's the ones - especially the teenagers - who use them to actually tan that really worry me. I've read a couple of articles that cited research that's shown tanning beds may have more serious effects on teen anatomy than on adult. There's even been talk in some communities around here about limiting teens' access to tanning beds.

After reading this thread a couple of days ago I picked up a new 'Euro' paper today which now claims that people who have been avoiding the sun completely and staying pale because of skin cancer are increasing the risk of other cancers. Apparently in Australia, Sydney university have seen signs that their campaigns to keep people out of the sun has had an adverse affect and people are becoming vitamin D deficient, leading to increase breast and prostate cancer, nervous system diseases, osteoporosis and diabetes. Of course they still say burning causes big problems but recommend that people should now be out in the sun for 20 mins a day. It's difficult to keep up with what you should and shouldn't be doing!

Debi, you'll fit right in with all the ladies on the cosmetic counters at department stores!! Has anyone else noticed that they are actually orange on the face and white on the neck? There is a visable line of orange foundation!! Lol! I think it's the lure of staff discount which makes them buy all the products and wear them all at once!! :D

I'll tell you something worse than the orange! My Mom showed me the group photo of her high school class reunion. Not only could you pick out the ones who'd roasted themselves on the spit every summer, there was one who had WAY overdone the Botox! She looked like something from Dr. Frankenstein's lab.

When Charley and I went to the wedding the first of the month, one of the women there was flitting around, the perfect socialite, and you should've seen the perpetually surprised expression from a too-tight facelift . . . Maybe two or three!

I'm less orange...more a light tangerine. I smell like lemons...and I am a prune from soaking. Do you even know what feet look like that are all pruney AND orangish??? The Heavens smiled on me and sent us some colder weather...I'm totally covered in my sweats. Dave has no clue...hehehe The LEAST I could have done was applied a more even color....add streaks to that visual list. The brand is Neutrogena...could have been just me, but save yourself and stay away. I didn't buy it my daughter did (yeah, wait til I see her!!) and no offense to her, but I'm taking a real wild guess that it wasn't the most expensive tanner available. In her defense...she's seen my legs...I'm guessing she thought they weren't 'high end' material. LOL
