Wasn't really worth getting offended over, but wasn't that funny, no matter what you plugged in there for "ginger." Tempest in a teapot. People need to stop looking for things to be pissed off over. There are plenty without seeking them out!

I'm not offended by THAT, but I DESPISE ginger/red head jokes.
I've dealt with them all my life, and there are certain parts of the world that literally think gingers/red heads are disgusting.
And I do NOT get that.
I have red hair, and so does my husband.
I know that with most red heads they're either really attractive or simply NOT at all, but COME ON.
Leave us alone already.:lol-sign:

Wow, I'm a redhead and have never really heard a redheaded joke. The card wasn't funny, but wasn't offensive either. I can't believe that people can complain about so little.

^ this. If it was a FUNNY redhead joke, I'd be laughing with everyone else, but I can honestly say, it wasn't even mildly amusing. And like Renee said, no matter WHAT you plugged in for "ginger" be it "blonde" "fatty" ANYTHING........it still wouldn't even be cute, let alone funny. But offended? Nah, I am a redhead BTW ;)

IT was tasteless to be sure. I don't think they should sell it. Especially directed towards children.

Hahahaha. Having a high proportion of gingers in this part of the world, you hear it all. It was a funny card, it was typical brit humour ;) we call one of our oldest friend a gringer now (he's going grey :p ). Unfortunately ginners get the short straw here in the uk!!! British humour REVOLVES around poking fun at ourselves, and that card was a prime example of it! One of my very best friends is ginger (and yes, ginger is a term - red cats are called ginger too).

I think the ginger thing on southpark was hilarious lol and me and my friends (including the red headed ones) love the ginger humor. its all in good fun and is never meant to actually offend anyone. and I would never tell the joke or w/e with somebody who I wasn't really close 2.. for some people its hurtful. so I save my ginger jokes for friends who make fun of me 2 lol

RUN AWAY!!!

as for the card lol I must admit, I would've laughed.. alot!

I love being the token redhead in my group.
I'm "Ranga" to pretty much everyone and I can laugh it off. I love my red hair and it doesn't bother me. Every once in a while someone that doesn't know me that well will hear "BECAUSE YOUR A RANGA" get screamed in my direction and gasp and tell them not to be so rude then ask me if I'm offended, lol.

There is another girl that works with us aswell, she's a natural blonde and died her hair red... well she calls it Strawberry Blonde I imagine to evade the redhead jokes... she's now been dubbed "Strawbs".

As Dizzy rightly said, it's typical Brit humour.. Being self depreciating is in the genes.. ;)

Take Jo Brand for example one of Britains well known comediennes.. She calls herself a "fat" woman, her famous catchline being.. "They say that inside every fat woman there's a thin woman just bursting to get out.. Never a truer word said.. Because we've eaten the skinny cow" ;)

I just found it funny that someone would have the nerve to actually print it in this day and age of political correctness madness.

Take comfort, Becca :)

In every ancient culture, redheads were held to have sorcerous powers. We are to be FEARED ;)

When I found that out it explained why everyone in those old school Chinese restaurants tiptoes around like they're on eggshells when I'm there, lol.

Oh, and biblical mythology claims that all the villains in the bible were redheaded. I've always been partial to Jezebel, myself, especially now that archaeology and anthropological studies seem to be vindicating her and showing her for an intelligent, enlightened queen who earned the hatred of her husband's people because he sought her counsel.

As a kid I was blonde... VERY blonde lol and I've heard all the blonde jokes and most of them are funny... some are just stupid though lol. But it never bothered me and I told t hem more often than anyone else :)

Over the years I've gone red but other than the southpark episode I've never heard a red head in a joke unless she was the smart one in the blonde jokes LOL.

I don't really see anything to get that riled up over. To me the joke wasn't funny... was kinda bland for a joke. definitely nothing to freak out over lol

Wow... seriously. I am blonde and there is blonde jokes at my school like all the time, and there's one red head joke and it's crime city o_O. Wow, I don't get them, it wasn't offensive in any way, even my boyfriend didn't understand what was to be so offended of. And he is a red head.. well it's starting to turn more brown though, it's not really all that red anymore(he's not an ugly one though :D). Either way, that lady must really not have a sense of humor.

Well, in all fairness, I've seen some butt ugly blondes, brunettes, and black haired people.
Red hair just isn't as common, so it stands out a LOT more.
But...ugly is ugly, and like most things, Ugly doesn't know color.:lol-sign:
