Hello Everyone,

Recently many members of the community have been voicing their displeasure with the direction the community is heading. This thread is not to single anyone out and as far as I'm concerned, what is done is done. This is a simple reminder to everyone!

If a post makes you angry, upset or pissed off, then by all means voice your opinion, just do so in a respectful and constructive manner. Name calling, rudeness and other mean actions are not acceptable.

I fully realize that emotions are high and life is not great for a lot of us for one reason or another (economy/personal issues/life in general). However, that is not an excuse to lash out, be hateful, rude or belittle someone just because you have the luxury of anonymity.

There have been rules in place at Chazhound for a long time. They are located here: http://www.chazhound.com/forums/t27114/ I suggest that everyone, mods included, read ALL OF THE RULES again. They will be enforced for the greater good of the community, no exceptions!

Some important things to note:
1. I believe everyone should have a clean slate going forward. Forget what you have done or haven't done. It's in the past and the mods have been instructed to view everyone that way.
2. We all make Chazhound what it is. If this is a place you truly care for, then acting respectful shouldn't be too difficult. Try to imagine you are in a real life, face to face situation.
3. Starting March 1st, 2009 the rules that have been in place here for years, will be enforced.

Chazhound is a wonderful place full of love, support and caring! Everyone has a responsibility to keep it that way! This includes members, mods and owners.

I agree that the past is past.... I enjoy Chaz and am glad I stuck around! I just personally feel it's important to give people a chance ( Newbies ) and I'll share why:

I joined a Cockatoo forum several years back, unknown to me at the time of joining they were very Pro Rescue and had strong opinions and views about Breeding Toos, I joined blind and ignorant to many of the issues, My first post was about the unweaned baby I had just put a deposit on and how cute she was..... In that forum, that was very Troll like, many of my then beliefs and attitudes were very ill informed and I defended myself as I was rather brutally attacked by a few regulars to the board.... I darn near gave up and left because of how personal the attacks were and how bad I felt. In the end a few of the members were able to get my past my self defense mode and I did stay, the hurt feelings towards some members took a long time to heal, they were great people but they attacked me so harshly because I was new, did not know what they knew, and they assumed I was a Troll!

In the end, they educated me on many things, turned some of my very naive beliefs around and made me into a passionate part of their community, if they had progressed to the hurtful level of name calling I have seen before I'd have left, washed my hands of them, and likely still believed some of the things I used to, along with thinking they were elitist.....

So if I seem soft sometimes, or not *harsh* enough on newbies who may be Trolls, it is because I firmly believe they *will* hang themselves and until that happens I'd hate to run someone off who may truly be able to be helped.

reminds me of something one of my old bosses told me when I was doing tech support and for some reason those words really stuck with me.

What may seem ordinary to you may actually be quite extraordinary to someone else.

So even if it seems like basic knowledge or common sense to you... it might be perplexing to someone else so have patience and try to find the best and easiest way to walk them through it.

I agree... good idea. I mean... I still think people should be able to voice their opinions about things... That's one thing I've always loved about Chaz. Everyone should be allowed to have their voice. But... there are ways to do so in a respectful manner... or at least in a civil one.

I suppose that since this thread obviously has something to do about the fact that people are continuously referring to me as a troll, idiot, and other such niceties, I might as well say something here.

The name calling doesn't faze me much, I've been called worse things during my life. And it doesn't surprise me that once one persons mentions the word, it is quickly picked up and restated by plenty of others. I think I read somewhere that the longer a thread continues, the higher the chance that someone will call someone a troll....and that rule sure seems to apply on this board.

What really surprises me about the Chazhound crew is the fact that so many of them stand ready to start trouble for other people. I saw the thread where so many of them attacked some random breeder online because someone found a website and they didn't like the looks of the breeder's dogs or the fact that she was breeding labradoodles. I was just astonished that a group of people could act so cruelly toward someone whom they'd never met or who didn't even post here.

Now of course, the group is threatening me by saying that they are calling and emailing the shelter from where I got two of my dogs---and hoping that the shelter will come and take my dogs back. In reality, I can only say that many of the Chazhound posters are acting in a totally envious, jealous and bitter manner.

It isn't just me that some of the posters are insulting, there are others involved who feel as if there is something wrong with them because they own dogs which they got for free. It seems that it is quickly becoming anyone on the board who owns a dog cannot possibly be doing it as well as anyone else. We're all feeding the wrong food, not spending enough time with the dogs or spoiling them too much, training them wrong, and various other types of things.

I've been told that my pups should have been aborted, that they should be speutered almost immediately, that I should sell them on contract, or basically that there aren't any responsible people out there who should be able to have any of the pups.

Now, I've seen and responded to this thread. There are plenty of posters here who are acting as if they can't see it, although it's been right at the top of the screen for a few days.

I don't think the issue here is jealousy and envy, it's the reckless and borderline-neglectful manner in which you treat your dogs.

Heath, if the rules are going to be strictly enforced starting March 1st, I do hope you will pay special attention to number 6. :)

Well, you've figured it out. It's all about you . . . I suppose we can drop the elaborate ruse now, you're too smart for us.

I think commenting on a person's intelligence is getting kind of personal now.......

hat I should sell them on contract,
What? NOBODY has said "SELL" these mixed breed, rescue pups on contract. But that you should ADOPT THEM OUT, on a contract so that they will be altered and not add to the overpopulation.

Let's not hijack my thread pls.. :p

Bigdogs, this thread is not about you per se. This thread is about the community as a whole. There are 10 rules. Only one talks about being respectful. There are some other very important ones as well, such as the one Nolu pointed out.
