I thought this would be a good idea to do yearly... Although we have new members come on everyday and wonder about the chaz dogs etc etc

So like me list how many dogs you have and add a something a bio on how you got the dog and also list the ages as well & their birthdays :)

Dog Name:
Johnnie

Sex:
Female

Age:
5 months old

Date Birth:
Dec 29th 2007

Bio:
After Misty had died on Nov 19th 2007 results of Non genetic blood cell disease & kidney failure. We all waited and waited to get another dog but yet we wanted a puppy a fresh start! As we grieved & paid off the vet bills that need to be paid final paid in Feb. Then March 17th 2008 we lurked around at the APL no-kill animal shelter, where they were going to have adoption day at the hardware store then the following Saturday. Me, my sister & brother decided to check out the dogs/puppies that they'd. Manny the youngest brother whom has D/S has ALWAYS asked for a black & white dog that resembles my sister's dog Chopper

As we walked in the store we went right into the back where they had two 12 weeks old adorable black puppies one was solid black and other was black with white on chest, tail & paws and we instantly picked up the one with black with white on chest, tail & paws.

As you know we picked the one was laid back & very content & that was resemble to my sister's dog :)

We'll always cherish the best decision that ever was made

Date Birth: March 28, 2006

Dog Name: Jagger
Sex: Male
Age: 8 months old
Date Birth: October 29, 2007

Bio: Jagger is more serious than Ozzy. He's much calmer in nature too. He is currently training in Novice I obedience & is doing well with his training. He loves everybody too but he's more cautious & always checks his surroundings before letting loose to have fun.

Dog Name: Trishamar's Kindred Spirit (Oceano)
Sex: Male - neutered
Age: 5 years
Date Birth: February 6, 2003

Bio: Goofy, fun-loving, happy-go-lucky. He's the dog that puts a smile on everyone's face as he pretty much never meets a stranger. He's the dog that will act like a total goofball all day and leave you laughing at yourself and him in some way but when push comes to shove he always pulls through for me in the end. Although he is more than capable at running lead on my dogsled team, at races his power is best suited in wheel.

Dog Name: Kolos' Rona (Ronan)
Sex: Male - intact
Age: 6 years
Date Birth: April 15, 2002

Bio: This is my all-star dog! He never ceases to amaze me although sometimes his incredible feats aren't always too pleasing (ie. escaping from my heavily reinforced kennel!). Although he is small, his size isnt something to be taken lightly. This dog has some major power going on and brains to go with it! Since coming home to me in August 2006 he has made a complete turn around both emntally and physically. I'm so proud iof how far thiss dog has come! Since the first day I started working with him in 2003 he has always been my lead dog. This dog has drive up the @$$ and some to spare too!

Dog Name: Regis
Sex: Male
Age: 15 months
Date Birth: March 27th, 2007

Bio: We got Regis from North Carolina at the age of about 3 months old. We had been searching for a blue merle Cardigan Corgi for a couple of months, and almost giving up hope. Then we came across his breeder who sent a few pictures of him to us. Travis and I melted when we saw the pictures and it didn't take long before we both decided he was what we wanted. He was named Regis because I thought it was cute and unique, and I'm happy we chose it, we usually get a few laughs out of it :) He's a smart and loving dog, and even when he doesn't understand what you want, he tries with all his might. He falls asleep with his chin in your hand, and loves nothing more than kissing ears! I could go on forever about him, he is the best dog I've ever had :D

Ok I'll play!

Name: Smokey the VII (alias: Smokey)
Sex: male
Age: 7 Years
DOB: February 11, 2002

Bio:
Smokey was given to my mothers ex-boyfriend, who after going to jail had nobody to take care of him full time, my mother would go and feed him and make sure he had water, etc but she couldn't take him home due to threats from the ex-boyfriend. He was stolen from the ex-boyfriends yard and word got back to my mom who went and retrieved him, this was about a month later (that's a story in itself but the police had to show up and the thief threatened my mom with a gun, etc, etc) so my mom brought him home (ex BF still in jail) and called me to ask me if I could find him a home where I lived that was an hour and a half away. I said sure, she brought him up, and I never looked for a home for him, he was permanent from the time he got out of the truck. Nobody ever told the ex-BF what happened to the dog (who was left on a chain in all weather) until I moved to NY - Smokey's breeder gave my mom a back-dated bill of sale because they could not take him back (as per original contract) and it never became a problem.

Name: Lily of the Valley II (alias: Lily, aka BOZO)
Sex: Female
Age: 5 months 3 weeks
DOB: Feb. 5, 2008

Not much to be said about Lily, she chews stuff up, digs holes in my yard, isn't the brightest, but we still love her. Bought her from a local breeder, intend on doing weight pulling with her if I can ever find an organization that is fairly local.

BTW OC Spirit - I always meant to add that I love your quote on the prayer from Boondock Saints...I love that movie.

Dog Name: Nikki

Sex: female-spayed

Age: 12 1/2 years

Date Birth: February 27, 1996

Bio: My dog that I picked out from a newspaper ad when I was nine. I wanted a collie so bad, but parents would only let me have a small breed. So... I chose a sheltie. She's a great dog, though rather mean, honestly. She's a very endearing girl. I love her so incredibly much. She's had health problems recently but continues to maintain her spirit. Nikki is afraid of farts, tongues, and bubblegum as well.

Dog Name: Trey

Sex: male- neutered

Age: 12 years (almost)

Date Birth: July 4, 1996

Bio: We got Trey at about a year old. He was grown out as a show/agility hopeful but didn't quite pan out. So he was offered to us. He is without a doubt the weirdest dog ever, but he's beautiful and very sweet. He could probably be the poster sheltie and always gets comments about how gorgeous he is. We call him Fabio.

Dog Name: Summer

Sex: female-spayed

Age: 4 years

Date Birth: June 13 (?), 2004

Bio: I just got Summer a few months ago. She was offered to me as an agility dog after she lost two litters. She's a crazy energetic dog and hasn't slowed down a bit. She's also very smart and very curious. She needs to figure out everything, which leads to a lot of what we tell her are 'bad ideas'. You constantly hear 'Summer... that's a bad idea! SUMMER!' around here. As I've said, she's super energetic and seems to be a wonderful choice for an agility dog. I can't wait to see what the future holds for the two of us. She's also been a superb therapy dog. She's very friendly and loves people.

Dog Name: Beau

Sex: male- intact

Age: 3 years (almost 4)

Date Birth: August 3, 2004

Bio: Beau is our show dog. He campaigned at 2 years old and finished in just a few shows with two 5 point majors- one at a specialty. He's not just a pretty boy, though. He's a goofball and a clown and really an athletic guy. He can make anyone fall in love with him and make anyone smile. He's smart but he rarely takes the time to think. (Typical boy!)

Dog Name: Rose

Sex: female-spayed

Age: 3 years

Date Birth: June 6 (?) 2005

Bio: Rose we got when she was nearly two years old. She had ben moved around a lot, had failed as a show dog and was sent back to her breeder. She was just miserable and very sad when we picked her up. We'd just lost a puppy of ours and decided to take Rose on since she needed a home. She is the most remarkable dog. She's the sweetest and cutest thing you could've ever seen. She's now a happy, bouncing bubbly little personality. She loves children and her favorite thing is to go to the school to pick up the sisters. She just enjoys getting doted on.

Dog Name: Hiro

Sex: male- intact

Age: 10-11 weeks

Date Birth: I'm not really sure...

Bio: Not much about him yet, but he is our tri boy. He’s a show hopeful and a sweet and curious little pup. Can’t wait to watch him grow up!

*has too many dogs*

Name: Sierra
Sex: Female - Spayed
Age: approx. 1 1/2 years
Birthday: unknown, but we've pegged it as Feb 14, 2007
Gotcha day: Oct 30, 2007 :D

BIO: A week or so before I met Sierra, I had a dream. In my dream I had a dog named Sierra, which I thought was silly as it's never something I would have considered naming a dog. Her foster mom comes into the store where I work all the time with her foster dogs, to get them exposure and also socialized etc. When she came in with Sierra I turned into a puddle of mush. I said right there "This is my dog! I'm in love!" Only after then did I find out her name was already Sierra, which sealed the deal. It took a lot of work to convince Matt that it was the right time for us to have a dog. He was dead set against it. I ended up essentially throwing a tantrum (I almost had a panic attack actually) when I found out another couple had put in an application for her, and he said okay. Neither of us has ever looked back (and she's a total daddy's girl!)

Sierra is a truly funny dog. At home she's polite, sweet, affectionate, attentive, playful and gentle. Outside and in public she's a whirling dervish. She wants to see/smell/kiss everyone and everything and is a total maniac about it. We're starting to get more moments of calm in public, (I mean, she *can* walk on a leash, so long as there is nothing too amazing around to distract her) so I make sure to fully appreciate it!!

Name: Daisy
Sex - Female (Spayed)
Age - 6 years
Birthdate - 6/27/2002
Gotcha Day - Sometime in September

Bio - Got her free as a puppy from my friend's dad, the one-time BYB. Daisy loves Frisbee, walks, food, playing in the hose, and sleeping.

Name: Benji
Sex - Male (neutered)
Age - approximately three years
Birthdate - unknown
Gotcha Day - End of July sometime

Bio - My sister went to a new age shop, and discovered the shop owner feeding this little dog hot dogs. The shop owner told my sister about how the little dog would come to the shop every day and how his owners would sometimes return to pick him up, and about how she witnessed the owners beat him. My sister agreed to take the little dog for a week until the shop owner could take him in, but we ended up keeping the little dog instead. Benji likes to sleep on the couch, bark at the cats and the deer, go on walks, and get scratched.

Dog Name:Dodger
Sex: Male- neutered
Age:3
Date Birth:may 22

Bio: Dodger came to me when i was looking for a show potential baby. he was 5 months old and when he arrived he had a fractured leg. found out that the poor little mite had been dropped, kicked and shouted at alot. He still hasnt gotten over his fears of strangers but hes my little prince. i call him my rabid squirrel, but once he gets to know you hes such a sweet little boy who wants nothing more than to snuggle.
hes a 3lb full grown blue fawn long haired chihuahua,

Dog Name: Vixie
Sex:Female-Spayed
Age:4
Date Birth:July 16

Bio: I got vixie as my first show dog of my own...she was 6 months old. she is very sweet natured and outgoing but unfrotunatly wouldnt stand on the table...she was all about the belly rubs.
Shes the momma of the house and likes to keep the other dogs in their place, her and dodger are inseperable!
She is a 5lb Red and Cream Long Haired Chihuhau with a tiny bit of Blue sabling.

Dog Name:Ruby
Sex:Female
Age:1 1/2yrs
Date Birth:Feb 29

Bio: Ruby came to me as a rescue...with her sister gypsy...she was SUPPOSED to be temporary and i found her and her sister "wonderfull" new homes, unfortunatly ribies new home was fake, while her references had checked out the woman was mildly insane.
after only a week ruby was back, the woman claimed she "couldnt be house broken" "peed in the crate" "couldnt hold it when excited" she goes on to claim she took her to some fancy dog trainer in upstate ny, you know...the kind where rich people drop off their dogs so some stranger can "train" them to be "perfect" the trained aparently had her for 24 hours and gave her back claiming the dog was brain damanged and had been abused and couldnt be trained...She then claimed that after this. because of all the peeing she took her to the vets and the vet told her she had a "neurological problem" and would never be able to be house broken or trianed...
She then proceded to claim that i must have kept ruby in a crate her entire time with me and thats why she felt it was ok to pee in the crate, and how she was going to report me to the state for animal abuse...*sigh* she then claimed gypsy was worse!
I imediatly contacted the owner of Gypsy, who happend to be this womans sister...she told me that gypsy was proving hard to housebreak but doing b and they LOVE her!
she then explained that the woman who had ruby kept her locked in the crate almost 24/7 (youd pee in the crate too if you wernt being let out) she would throw stillettos at her and stamp her high heels on the floor by the crate, the housetter would hit the crate with the mop or vacume cleaner because they thought it was funny when she cowered...and would yell at her and scold her by scruffing her and lifting her off the ground (which caused her to pee herslef every time they bent over her)
i was worried upon taking ruby back before finding the latter out because i knew shed never find a good home if she had issues...
however after a week she was 100% crate trained, and 100% reliable if left out in the house for up to 4 hours, she walked perfectly on leash by the third walk, and knew how to give paw and ASK to go out by week 2...
she won me over with her inteligence and wit, so funny and ended up staying. i cant imagine being without her.
she is a 10lb powderpuff red and white chinese crested in a pony cut

Name: Sarama
Sex: Female-Spayed
Age: 18 mos
Birthdate: Unknown, celebrated on January 1st

Bio: I found Sarama with a rescue that had set up at Petsmart 3 days before I took the bar exam. She had come from a rural shelter down state, and the rescue had taken her "on spec" because she only had six hours left, and they hoped to find someone to foster her even though they had no room. I thought she was wonderful, and I offered to foster if they could keep her until I took the exam. I picked her up the day after the bar, and called them two weeks later to say I was keeping her. Best decision I ever made :).

Sarama loves killing squeaky toys, going to the dog park, and swimming. She'll try to herd and point if the whim strikes her. And she's always smiling.

Name: Femka
Sex: female- spayed
Age: 81/2
Birthdate: Feb 2000

Bio: Femka is our adopted rescue. She got her when she was 5 years old. She was originally born in the Netherlands and imported to the US when she was two years old.
While her previous life was awful and arrived basically a basket case, she has a great life now and spoiled rotton. She has some health issues with a very low thyroid and that has triggered some problems.

Name: Zubin
Sex: male not neutered
Age: 3
Birthdate: May 2005

Bio: Zubin is a lovely boy with a " never met a stranger" type attitude. He is a show dog, but his most noted as a therapy dog working with kids with cancer at the hospital. Willing in all situations. He also has a gift of knowing when people are not well- as in getting worse. (even if the person themselves do not know something is wrong with their body). What he is sensing is hard to say.

Out of memorial I will list Hottie since I talk about him so much.
Name: Hottie-Borzoi
Sex: male - neutered
Age: 9 1/2
Birthdate: died March 14th,2008

Bio: I got Hottie after my divorce after the death of my first Borzoi. Having had a accident when he was a 4 month old puppy ( broke a growth plate), the condition caused other health problems his whole life. ( OCD, advanced ostreosporis etc).
Hottie saved my life mentally. His silly fun loving, but regel nature helped me cope through my seperation and divorce. Always the gentlemen, loving and gentle. Whoever he met, he left an impression on them. Although we knew for years his condition would cause a early death, his loss was a massive heartbreak for us. He will always be remembered.

Name: Laika
Sex: Spayed Female
Age: 6
Birthdate: December 2001

Bio: I originally went to go look at a couple of australian shepherd mixes at a local rescue, and when they were not there the lady showed me a black lab mix pup, and a bernese mountain dog pup. Both of which were too big. She then showed me some "Husky/Beagle mixes" and I took the only female.

Laika turned out better than I could have ever thought. She is incredibly smart, sweet and agile.

Name: Aztec
Sex: Neutered Male
Age: 2
Birthdate: November 28, 2005

Bio: Aztec has made my life incredibly interesting since the day I got him, he has a lot of little sheltie "quirks". He is the most affectionate dog I have met.

Name: Thunder
Sex: Neutered Male
Age: 5 years
Birthdate: August 11, 2002
Bio: This is my "son". I love this dog so much, he is always with me and never leaves my side. He is extremely intelligent and always seems to understand what I'm saying. He is afraid of thunderstorms and is an excellent "weatherman"... he always tells me when it's going to storm at least 2-3 hours ahead of time, even when it's bright and sunny out, he always knows.

Name: Sammy
Sex: Neutered Male
Age: 3 years
Birthdate: July 16, 2004
Bio: I've had Sammy since the day he was born, I rescued his mom when she was pregnant. He is a very smart dog and loves to learn. He has a wide variety of tricks that he knows and learns new ones very quickly. He loves everyone he meets and his tail is always wagging.

Name: Scooter
Sex: Male
Age: 1 year
Birthdate: December 11, 2006
Bio: Scooter is my "problem child", in more ways than one. His first year of life, he was very sick. He was in and out of the vet constantly for one reason or another. We never thought he'd make it through his first year but he did. He cannot be neutered at this time because the vet doesn't think he would survive the anesthesia. Scooter is a very vocal dog, he constantly whines/barks/howls,etc... even when he's eating, or sleeping! He was nearly impossible to house train and to teach that cats are NOT snacks. He constantly tests my patience, but he is so sweet and I love him dearly!

Photobucket ate my picture of Marley, I'll have to hunt for one.

Name: Marley
Sex: Neutered Male
Age: 2-ish years
Birthdate: Unknown
Bio: Marley is an attention hog, he has to always be touching someone. His favorite thing is to be a pogo stick... he's constantly hopping up and down!

Name: Juno
Sex: Female
Age: 4 months
Birthdate: February 29, 2008
Bio: Juno is the princess, she is very much a little diva and is also one of the brattiest dogs you will ever meet! She hasn't met a food she doesn't like and she is an expert climber. She's tiny but baby gates and puppy pens don't stop her... she just climbs right over. She thinks she is boss over all the other dogs, and they all adore her so they seem to let her think she really is the boss.

And again, photobucket ate my pictures of Ava so I have to hunt again.

Name: Ava
Sex: Spayed Female
Age: 5-ish months
Birthdate: Unknown
Bio: Still getting to know her, she's the newest addition. But she's so sweet and so smart. She is going to be a wonderful dog!

Name: Mel - short for Mello
Sex: Neutered Male
Age: 11 years old - approx.
Birthdate: Unknown
Bio: Mel was running a marathon on the highway when my husband found him and pulled over to save him. He said he was either going to eat me or get in my car, either way, he had to save him! He has turned out to be the best dog I have ever owned. He is very intelligent, loyal, sweet, friendly and funny! He used to be my running partner until we found out last year he has a heart disease, Cardiomopathy. He is retired from running and has to take it very easy. He is on three different types of medication, but you would never know he was not healthy, he constantly has a toy or a tennis ball in his mouth!

Name: Buddy
Sex: Neutered Male
Age: 4 1/2 (?)
Birthdate: Unknown
Bio: We adopted Buddy from a shelter last year. We had lost our Beagle of 16 years and Mel was very sad and lonely. We spotted Buddy at a dog event and after hearing his story about how he was abused in his first home, we knew we had to save him. Buddy and Mel are BFF's! Buddy needs daily medication also as he suffers from seizures. Fortunately his seizures are under control, but we have a weight issue from the meds. He is a silly, sweet little boy who loves everyone and every dog he meets.

Dog Name: Luce
Sex: spayed female
Age: five years
Date Birth: dunno
Bio: Luce is my challenging dog. She came off the streets, into the shelter, and then into my home as a lean, mean, spaz about a year old. I have learned an amazing amount about dogs, behavior, dog-aggression, pit bulls, and obedience training from her. She is an amazing breed ambassador. She loves everybody. She has her CGC and her first leg toward her Rally Novice title.

Dog Name: Mushroom
Sex: neutered male
Age: 5 years
Date Birth: dunno
Bio: Mushroom is my Sensitive Guy. He, too, was picked up as a stray and came to live with me as an adult. He is as sweet and gentle as could be, but he worries a lot. His greatest joys are food, laying upside down on the couch, and his Grandma. He sleeps in bed under the covers at night. He has always been a much easier dog that Luce and he ends up overshadowed by her a lot.

Name - Meg
Gender - spayed female
Age - 3ish
Birthdate - no idea, but I use Nov. 11th, 2004
Our anniversary - Super Bowl Sunday

Bio - Meg is my perfect girl. She was brought to Vermont from a high-kill shelter in West Virginia, where she had lived outdoors for pretty much her whole life, and had already had a litter of puppies. My friend runs a rescue and brought her north with me in mind. I agreed to foster her for a few weeks and try her out, despite the fact that I thought she was kind of ugly (which I can't believe now). Despite a lot of fears, and zero experience as a house dog, she tried her best to behave and rarely put a foot wrong. On Super Bowl Sunday (or more accurately really early Monday morning), as my friend and I camped in my car with Meg, waiting for concert tickets, Meg snuggled happily under the blankets with us, and my friend turned to me and said "You know, you are keeping this dog". And I said "yeah, I know".

Meg goes to work with me everyday where she helps me run the horse farm. She is almost never apart from me. She's earned her CGC and a small collection of agility titles. Her favorite hobbies are agility, touching people, watching American Idol, singing to kitties, and hunting bunnies. And making her mom a very, very happy person.

Name: Duke
Gender: Male - neutered
Age: 2 years 5 months
Birthday: February

Bio: I moved out from my parents and after wanting a dog so bad while I lived there this was my chance to get what I wanted. lol. I had my name down on a breeders list for a lab. When the litter arrived she only had 3 puppies come out of it. So that fell through. I then decided to look into greyhound resuces. I had one saturday free and did the worst thing ever I went to the shelter just to have a look. Bad idea. The second dog I cam across was this little guy who gave one bark to get my attention and just sat there with one flop ear and one ear stright up. I put in the paper work saurday was called on Monday to come pick him up if I wanted to. I did and I learned something I will never get the cute puppy again. lol

Duke has some dog aggression issues we work very hard on and is very much attached to me, hes completly my dog no matter who is around. We just recently started agility and are both having a blast.

Name: Denali
Gender: Female - Spayed
Age: 3 years
Birthday: Dec 25, 2004

Bio: I have wanted a Great Pyrenees for a long long time. After buying a house and getting settled in, I decided it was time for me to get my dream breed. I made quite a few adoption mistakes with finding a reliable breeder, but I ended up with the most happy-go-lucky dog out there!!! Denali came from a working pyr farm (they protected horses). Denali has much more energy than a "normal" pyr. She loves everybody she meets.

Name: Loki
Gender: Male - neutered
Age: Unknown - would guess about 4 yrs
Birthday: Unknown

Bio: I wanted to get Denali a 'friend' to help her burn off some energy. I went to the pyrenees rescue and didn't find exactly what I was looking for until they sent me to the foster homes... there Loki was. He and Denali got along right away and were playing within minutes. We found out he did have food aggression issues - which he's better with around me and Denali, but I don't trust him with food and other people. He does have some other aggression/trust issues as well that I've been working with, but it's been a battle. I have never had such a strong bond with any animal until Loki came along!
