Based on the dogs I see at the club in public classes:

Labs
Goldens
Mutts
Beagles

Then again...dogs that people can't train LOL.

I guess I'm not completely sure, but definately Labs and Goldens. GSPs are pretty popular - a lot of people like to hunt.

We have a ton of BYB GSD's, Weims, Goldens. Basically bigger dogs with some kind of purpose, but ill tempered and overly sized.

I'm in northeast TX and...

Pit/Pit mix and labs/lab mix are probably neck and neck for first.

Dachshunds seem pretty popular along with yorkies and other small breeds.

People have everything here in the northwest. You see a lot of labs, pits, border collies, and mixes of all those. Plus, tons of random purebreds and mixes of less common breeds. There are several borzois in town, I've seen a deerhound, lots of whippets, a galgo, greyhounds, bassets, st. poodles, toys, tons of aussies, various mastiffs and mastiff mixes, spaniels, on and on.

When I used to do swapmeets with my grandma, we used to joke that it was our private dog show, we had so many random breeds walking by the booth. That was where I saw my first neo mastiff.

As far as at the hotel in the Sacramento area...

1. Labs - by far!!!
2. Goldens
3. Chihuahuas
4. Poodle mixes
5. Pit Bulls
6. Boxers
7. Beagles
8. Yorkies
9. German Shepherds
10. Shih Tzus

As far as the city in general (and what area you're in), Pit Bulls are probably a close second, but Pitties aren't allowed in "group" so we get a lot less. :/

in upper- middle class Connecticut

1. Labradors (hands down!)
2. Golden Retrievers
3. Pugs
4. The Doodles
5. Pit Mixes
6. Husky Mixes
7. Border Collie Mixes
8. German Shepherds
9. Beagles
10. Boston Terriers

In Austin we had tons of boxers but not in ct- its odd! We also had a lot of cattle dogs, aussies, & a decent amount of border collies in TX but not here- barely any herding dogs here.

Based on what's in the shelters, and at the dog park, and walking around my neighborhood in West LA (think Beverly Hills here)...in no particular order:

Large dogs -
Pits & mixes
Labs & mixes
Goldens
German Shepherds
Chows & mixes
Jindos (a 'rare' breed but a surprising amount of them end up in shelters here)
Lots of BC mixes in Central & Northern Cali, but not as much here (maybe because of being in the city?)
And Boxers...forgot those. Lots in LA, not necessarily in my neighborhood tho.

Small breeds -
Chihuahuas
Poodles & misc. little white fluffies
Pomeranians
Cocker Spaniels
YORKIES! In purses!!
Jack Russell and other misc. terriers/mixes
Boston Terrier*
Shiba Inu*
*not at the shelters, but walking around and at dog parks

I really couldn't rate the amount of different breeds I see in shelters around here, but you mostly see labs, pit bulls, hounds, and GSDs, followed by mixes thereof! I have been seeing more herding types lately, and you do see huskies quite a bit because they are escape artists and climb over their fences and get picked up as strays. There is also a sprinkling of rottweilers here and there (this number goes up the more urban you get).

On my street, there are 3 mini dachshunds, and one that's a frequent visitor. There's a chihuahua, a rat terrier, 2 beagles, a border collie, and 2 mutts.

The mutt that lives with the border collie is a cattle dog mix. The other mutt is mine, a terrier mix.

The border collie and cattle dog mix host a Rally practice every week, and there are all variety of dogs and sizes over there, but most look like herding breeds.

On the street behind us, there's a chihuahua, a sheltie, 2 corgis, and 2 large mixes. One is a pit-looking mix, and the other is anybody's guess.

Those are the dogs I have made aquaintance with in my walks around the neighborhood. I'm sure there are more inside some of these houses!!
