Just curious! I'd say here I see:

1. Labradors
2. Chihuahuas
3. Golden Retrievers
4. Australian Shepherd
5. Border Collies
6. Pit Bulls
7. Jack Russell Terriers
8. Miniature Schnauzers
9. German Shepherd Dog
10. Husky
also Sheltie and ACD would probably tie at 10. Honestly you don't see many pure ACDs but you see a ton of mixes around here.

Also lots of mutts. Usually either herding type mixes or hound mixes. Probably the most common type of dog here after labs is some sort of ACD mix or border collie mix. You know generic herding dog.

The last time I looked at our shelter intake stats, the top 6 breeds and breed mixes were:

Pit Bulls
Retrievers (Lab and Golden are lumped together lol)
Boxer
Beagle/Hounds
and I think Chihuahua

Lets see, based off what I see at daycare
1: Goldens
2: Lab
3:Goldendoodles (hate to include this as a breed, but they are everywhere!)
4: Hounds of all types
5: Shih-Tzu
6: Pits
7: JRT's
8: Husky
9: Cocker
10: Pointers (and if there was ever a breed that the average person in my area should not own, here it is. Every one I see is neurotic from lack of exercise)

1. Pits and Pit Mixed
1. Labs and Lab Mixes
2. Golden and Golden Mixes
3. Doodles
4. Generic Mutts

It's a tie for first and this is mostly based off what I see regularly at the dog park. We have a nice bully population around here :)

labs
shepherds
shitzu
boxers
beagles
chis
and any assortment of mixes of these.

That is what is mostly right around me but also a pretty good representation of what ends up at our pound.

There was a time that out of the seven houses on my street, four of us had dobies.

Mutts! More than anything else, I see mystery dogs that I couldn't explain (this area is huge on rescue)
Pitts
Labs
Hounds
Eskis (there are TONS here)
Shepherds
maltese/shihtzus/little fluffy dogs

I don't know, I really think that if there is a breed of dog in existence, there are at least a handful of them in town here. It's amazing how many neat breeds I've gotten to see thanks to the dog park in my neighborhood. Klee Kais, Tollers, Irish water spaniels, Portuguese water dogs, papillons, etc etc

A lot of people here have small dogs (small apartments, no yards = small dogs)

I see A LOT of Yorkies, it is no surprise that they are the most popular dog in NYC every year.... There are at least 10 on my floor alone in my apartment building.

I see other small things like maltese, shih tzus, poodles, chis, boston terriers, and italian greyhounds.

My old building had a 25 pounds weight limit but in my new building you can have one dog up to 80 pounds so I see more larger breeds like goldens, german shepards, labs.

What's weird here is pits are pretty much only owned by really uppity sorority girls.

I'd say:

Bully mixes
Lab mixes
German Shepherd mixes
Hounds/hound mixes

probably not in that order.

I'd say hound mixes, bully mixes, labs, then GSDs
