If you don't want to do all that work with the glove - you can just use a tampon applicator. Fill it with yogurt and squirt it in.
The only times I had a yeast infection (twice), I used yogurt and it killed it right off, never went to the dr for them.
sweet. thank you.
I know this is going to sound weird but do you think it's possible that you are having some kind of allergic reaction to something you are using? (Soap, powder & even some intimate lubricant as well as the lube from some condom brands ... Even toilet paper.).
I am sorry if this sounds intrusive lol, but sometimes it's the hung you'd never thought it'd be.
Not a whole lot has changed really. The soap I use is a soap that my friend made. There aren't any perfumes in it at all... it's a simple lye soap. I've been using the same soap for months. I don't use lube all the time and there's only one kind we always buy. I'm a bit of a creature of habit so I don't branch out much in the trying different lubes department. Now toilet paper... we usually just buy whatever seems more affordable. I don't think we buy the same brand every time.
DD has a very good point! Have you changed anything you put on or in your body recently?
I know that people can be allergic to things that would cause swelling and pain in that area: latex (condoms), preservatives in lube/spermacides, even sperm itself!
curious... is it possible to be allergic to one person's sperm and not another person's? I've never had issues in the past, but I have noticed that ever since I've been with Josh I've had irritation in that area periodically and a lot of the time it's after sex. He tested clean of STDs so don't think it's that. I do wonder though if it's possible to be allergic to one person's sperm and not another's.
On the PP suggestion - I would highly recommend you call your regular doctor/gyno (whoever you were seeing before) and ask how much it would be, then call PP and ask how much it would be. I was without insurance for three months, and of course my depo injection fell in that three months. I called my doctor and they told me how much getting the shot would be, then transferred me to the pharmacy so I could ask how much the injection itself was (it is over $50 without Rx insurance.) I called PP and asked them how much it would be. Without the price of the shot itself included, they were OVER twice what it was going to be TOTAL at my regular doctor.
Just call and check how much the exam fees will be before you go. I was REALLY surprised it was going to be that expensive at PP.
Unfortunately my last gyno/regular doctor is in New Mexico. I haven't seen a dr at all since we moved from NM so I don't have a regular doctor or gyno established out here in VA.
Yes I find certain types of toilet paper (to figure :/) make me quite irritated down there. Also I can't use condoms with spermicide lube & for the uh ... Personal lube I have to use the gentle water based kind.
Also I don't ever uh "get kinky" in the bedroom with like honey, chocolate, fruit (you get it) because the sugar content in it can upset that PH balance of your "V zone" & make it prone to things like yeast infections. (You'll have to pardon me, I read a lot lol) like I said it could be the most fickle thing.
Also if you use pads/tampons with a scent, that can also do it (at least it does for me)
I can't use spermicide on anything because it actually really irritates Josh. I think he's allergic to it because anytime we've used condoms with spermicide he has had a LOT of pain afterwards. We also don't do the chocolate, honey etc... we just don't lol. I get weird about the idea of having food down there lol.
Also with pads/tampons... I always buy unscented.
You could try taking an antihistamine and see if that helps.
About the price thing as well, the state health clinics around here have a set fee. Of course they just upped it, but it was $50 each time you came in no matter what you had done. Now it's $75 plus $25 if you have any blood/urine labs done.
I bring this up bc both regular doctors AND pp itemize their bills. They may be cheaper for routine check ups, but for things that require different labs and screening, it might not. So I would also call the town health center and find out their fee. I recently needed a full work up with titers and updated vax, the set fee thing REALLY saved me some $.
I'll definitely look into that too. Thank you. Also... where can I get an antihistamine? Just any store that has a pharmacy?
We don't have insurance and we just pay per visit. I don't go to any free or reduced pay clinic type places. I actually go to some of the better offices in our area for our dentist, my gyno, and our family doc, etc. my yearly exam is a little over $100. The other day I was having some weird, female related pains so I went in and had a pelvic exam and the total cost of the visit was $73. Chloe's well child check ups are like $60-$100 depending on vaccinations and a sick appointment at our family doc is $65. We have no plans to get insurance any time soon. I REALLY think you are looking at like $75-$100 depending on what doc office you go to.
This is crazy to me! I go to an actual gyno, at a nice office and my yearly exam with pap is $120!! My visit to discuss some weird symptoms and just have a pelvic done was $73. We rarely pay over $100 for any type of doc visit.
I second this. I don't see why what you are going for would even cost near $200. Check PP and check several other gynos who are accepting new patients.
This is the link that I found for my local PP that had prices listed...
