My favorite leashes are BY FAR my leather ones from OnLead. I have two multi-function leashes, one with brass ahrdware and one with nickel/silver hardware. I also had one regular flat 6' leash from them, but the cat ate the handle. So now I use it as a tether around the house on the rare occasion I have a use for one.

I have a nylon one that I got when I first got Gavroche that I love for the gym - I use it in the shower because I crate Logan and stick the end of the leash in the shower so I can keep on eye on it. It dries fast and it means I don't muck up my nice leather.

I just made a leash for myself out of tubular nylon, as it's much less harsh thn most other nylon. It's a 7'+ multi function/euro lead and so far I love it. It's actually more comfortable to wear over my shoulder than the leather ones...probably because it's lighter. It's also longer, which is better for the guide harness, since I stand so far back. I never thought I'd love a nylon euro leash, but this is close!

Masters Pride leashes are my absolute fave - 5/8" wide. There's a woman who belongs to a neighboring obedience club who makes braided leather obedience leads, and those are my favorite for obedience.

For hiking, I ALWAYS use my biothane leashes.

Nylon leashes.... no. Just no. Except for lure coursing.

I have quite a few leashes, but four that I use regularly.

I have two Pacos, that are the same except one is tan & brass and the other is brown & silver (to go with collars she already had). They are both 6ft long (excluding the handle) and 5/8in wide. They did require some breaking in but now they are very soft and easy to handle. I would say I use these most often.

I also have a Mendota slip lead, 6ft x 1/2 inch. I usually keep it in the car - means she doesn't have to wear a collar everywhere.

I recently got a hands-free (I think they call it a training lead) Hunter lead from work that I really like. It's a tighter woven rope than the Mendota but still very nice to handle. It's a slip lead on one end and a clip on the other, so whichever end I have on Quinn I can put the other around my torso. Or, what I actually do most often is just use it as a regular leash but I can make it super long, or double it up more and make it a standard length. I love the versatility of it.

I just like a leash that is soft and comfortable.

I love my Ellas Lead, it's much softer than it looks. I just don't like how heavy the hardware is, it's too heavy for anything other than a flat buckle collar - I won't use it with a harness, martingale, prong, Gentle Leader...

My go to leash right now is my soy leash by New Earth. It's very light and soft, not cumbersome or uncomfortable at all. I just wish it were shorter. It's 6' and I much prefer 4' leashes.

I have a six foot leash and a four foot leash from Leerburg that I love.

The four foot from leerburg is going on ten years old, and it's the best feeling leash ever. It's also got an o-ring on the handle that I adore. It's 1/2" wide.

The six foot is soft, but doesn't get used as often as the four foot, and is only a few years old, but it's like, 1/4" wide. It's really really strong and nice, but thin.

Then I have a I think it's 3/4" inch bullhide leash I bought from SizzleDog that's about 70 inches long or so, that's incredibly soft and you can stuff it in just about any pocket. It also has a locking alligator snap on it that's perfect for Indy, because she's like Houdini and can walk out of leashes :p You'd have to ask her where it came from though, I can't remember.

I also have a Kong leash that worked beautifully on the beach. Easy to clean, the handle is lined, and can also double as a collar because it's got a buckle on it. It's Ozzys leash, DH uses it to run with Oz in most of the time, but I was impressed with how quick it dries after getting wet, and sand didn't bother it at all. I don't use it myself for walking because of sensory issues, but it's a nice leash. It's also four feet long. It came from Petsmart, and had this plastic bone thing on it that slid up and down the length of the leash for some reason. I cut that off and prefer the leash a lot more without it.

I SO WISH I could find some of those at a decent price. Those are my favorite snaps ever. But they're like $20 for JUST the snap.

Really? Wow. That's ridiculous lol.

I got it second hand, and I can't remember what I paid for it lol :p

My 5ft Golden Tan Ella's Lead 5/8" leather leash is my probably my favorite. I LOVE the feel, the looks of it, it came pretty soft already but has softened up nicely & quickly.

My other would be my 6ft biothane leash from AllK-9.

I use those 2 on and off depending on situation. But those are the only 2 I use. Actually, I don't have any others except like 2 plain nylon leashes that sit in my closet lol.

My next leash I'm eyeing is one of these:

From Bold Lead Designs. I can't justify the price yet though, but I'd love a multi functional lead or Euro lead.

I have a 5-ish foot leather leash I got at a dog show that's soft, teensy (but strong) and just my favorite. It lives in my car, where naughty puppies cannot accidentally get it.

I also have a mendota lead that is soft as well and gets a lot of use.

I had leather leashes when I did 4-H Obedience "because I had to." I had two different brands. I really disliked the feel even after working oil into them. I've never bought any more leather leashes after I pawned those off on someone else.

I use my White Pine leashes 90% of the time I'm not using a Flexi. I also don't have a problem using regular nylon. I like Siri's biothane lead but I don't see a need to buy any for myself right now.

BIOTHANE! All my leashes are biothane. Tabs, traffic handles, 4ft, 6ft, training leads, long lines. I make them, so it's easy to get exactly what I want ;)

I have a few leather leads (also made by me) that I use also. Mainly only as training leads, but generally I still use biothane.

I HATE nylon leads. I don't even own one anymore.

Texas leash company is my personal favorite right now. I love my 3/8" wide one and recently ordered another one that should be here any day now. Love love LOVE! Mine worked in really easily and is nice and soft ad foldable. Got it as my training lead but now it's my main go to lead.

Love my northern blackout leads. They are SO soft and I love the alligator snaps. I have two of them. The only thing is I've gotten so used to thinner leads that my 1/2" NB leads feel wide now.

99% of the time, we used a flexi, or no leash. I also have a hands-free rope leash, but I wasn't a huge fan. Not a fan on the leather leashes, I hate the feel of leather. Never really found a nylon leash I liked, either. I even use flexis for the ferrets, currently, though they each have a 5ft nylon lead too (that came with their harnesses).

We don't really use leashes enough to worry about sinking money into nice ones. I have a 6ft nylon leash and a cheap 6 ft leather leash. Most of the time my dogs are off leash or on long lines.

We've just always used nylon, I like them just fine lol. We have a Lupine right now which I HATE, simply because of the handle. Because it's a bulky stiff handle I can't wrap the leash around my hand to shorten it or make a slip leash out of it for him or to put on my wrist in high traffic areas where I get nervous about potentially dropping the leash.

My only leash requirements now are that I can do the above mentioned things with it and it's at least 6' long, I can't stand 4' leashes.
