He's not feeling very good this morning.

He woke up at 5am and puked for about 30-45 minutes. I waited until now (7am) to give him his breakfast, to give his tummy some time to settle, and he is picking through it sooooo slowly. :( He never eats this slow.

Poor guy. I just hate to see him feeling so icky and mopey.

Is there anything I can do to help a doggie with an upset tummy?

ETA: He didn't even finish his breakfast. :( He putzed around with his bowl for a long time, then came to me and asked to go outside. I checked his bowl after I let him out, and there was still a good 1/2 cup of food in there... all half-chewed and drooled on.

He seemed to enjoy his time outside, though. He did his business, ran a quick loop through the snow, and was wagging when I let him back in. Now he's trying to play with the cat. So I guess that is good.

Poor Morgan ~~ feel better boy !
Thanks, Grammy!

I threw his blankets into the dryer for a few minutes so he could have warm blankies to lie on in his crate. I gave him a little bitty piece of his favorite treats as I was leaving for work, but he wouldn't take it. :( I feel so bad for him.

He may just have a touch of a tummy bug. Poor little guy :( I know it's hard to leave him when he's feeling bad
It's really hard. I was late for work because I was waiting in hopes to see some improvement.

If he's still acting off this evening, I'll call in a appt. to the vet. He's has an upset tummy before, but he's never left a meal unfinished or turned down a little treat. :(

I just wish I could have left an actual pillow bed or something in his crate with him instead of just the blankets. The problem is that he chews up beds in the crate. The blankies are the only thing that survive, but I know they don't cushion all that much.

My poor baby...

Morgan, feel better soon!! :(

*vibes sent*
Thank you!

How are his teeth? I wonder because of the drool.

All kinds of feel better vibes for Morgan.

I didn't think to check his teeth. I just thought the drooled kibble was all related to the half-chewed on. He crunched a lot of it up and then just let it fall out of his mouth.

That said, I will look tonight after work. Thanks for the tip. I never would have thought to look for a problem in his mouth with his symptoms... if it was just the slow eating I might have, but with the puking it probably wouldn't have occurred to me.

Hope he is feeling better soon, poor thing
Thank you. I hope so, too. I really wanted to stay home to keep an eye on him, but I'm already taking a week off work after Christmas and can't take another day. :(

Awe, poor guy :( Sending *feel better* vibes.

Hopefully, he didn't get a hold of something he shouldn't have eaten. Something that might have left a cut in his mouth or throat and upset his tummy. You didn't notice anything weird in his vomit did you?

It could just be his throat was hurting after vomiting so much this morning too tho.

Now that I think about it, he did chew the corner off an old towel yesterday afternoon. It was too close to the crate and he just pulled part of it inside. But it wasn't much ... I probably wouldn't have noticed the damage had I not found the thing inside the crate. In comparison, about a year ago he shredded/ate a WHOLE SHOE, and aside from barfing up the pieces, he never seemed to suffer any ill effect from that ordeal. No shortness in energy nor appetite like he was exhibiting this morning.

Though I highly doubt he would have gotten a cut or scratch from the towel, now I'm even MORE worried. :( I didn't think that he got enough of it to cause a blockage, but what if I'm wrong? I don't know what else he could have gotten into. I don't remember anything weird in his vomit, though I'll admit that at 5am in the dark I really wasn't firing on all cylinders.

I'm going to be a nervous wreck all day. I can tell already.

Tummy upsets used to be super common in my house. The old gal was awful for eating something dumb and then feeling like crap for it. If he's off this evening, don't even offer food. I fast for at least 12 hours when there is puking going on. Hopefully something just didn't sit right in his belly and he'll be starving when you get home!

If any of my dogs get an upset tummy we feed them a nice bland chicken and rice meal to get things settled and then slowly introduce their typical food back into it. Depending on what kind of food you're feeding, it might be too rich for his upset tummy.

I'd look for dehydration. If both water and food aren't getting in, then I'd say a trip to the vet would be in order. If you're worried about blockage, the sooner it's caught, the better. Been there, done that.

((HUGS)) How our dogs worry us so! Feel better, Morgan and Mom!

Scandal did this to me once. I took her into the vet (being so tiny lack of food causes a serious risk of hypoglycemia) they xrayed her and she had no impactions but a lot of swelling of the lining in her intestines.

She was put on a bland diet and some medication.

So hopefully its something along the same lines. Scandal perked up after a day or two.

Jon went home for lunch to find Morgan standing in vomit. The crate was filled. So Morgan is being rushed to the vet, and I'm trying to take off work.

Please keep those vibes coming. I'm so worried about my baby.
