I am currently sporting the bite I got last weekend seperating Ronan and Skel from a serious fight. I'm not sure which tagged me but the canine tooth went through two shirts into my forearm right through the epidermal and into the muscle. There is some pretty bruising around it too.

None!!! Not even when I worked in kennels. Never placed myself in a stupid situation.

Few bruises and scratches from me and the wonky dog wrestle, but I do not consider those "injuries".

Yikes, I feel lucky after going through this thread!

The only real 'dog induced injury' was from Aspen in 2007. It was the night Riley came home, and I was outside letting him go potty. Aspen was playing with him, and everything was just fine. Well, Aspen decided to do her 'spin'(she sits back on her haunches and throws her shoulder to the side to change directions fast). She decided to do this right next to my knee. All 63 pounds of her shoulder hit my knee cap(and I was standing with my leg straight, bad idea) and popped my knee cap right out(the petalla, not the entire knee...thankfully). I can still hear the 'pop' in my head when I think about it. Thankfully, it self-corrected and by the time my knee buckled and I fell, it popped itself back in. I have had issues with the same knee doing this prior(without Aspen's help though), so it wasn't completely her fault.

Well, 20 yrs ago I got bit on the cheek because I grabbed a panicked dog who was running back and forth across 6 lanes of traffic. I knew I was probably going to get bit, but had nothing to catch him with except for my bare hands and I didn't want to see him squished. He grabbed onto my cheek and held on for the 2 block walk back to the kennel he had escaped from, then calmly released me and started licking me when we walked in the door. Sweet dog, just petrified and he reacted out of fear. (I knew he was an owned, vaccinated dog or I wouldn't have been so careless ...)

More recent - a beautiful Golden head butted me at a trial and chipped my front tooth. I didn't dare tell his owner because she was such a sweet lady and he obviously didn't mean it, but it cost me close to $200 to fix the tooth.

Fortunately, none of my injuries were from my own pets though ... :)

I have never been bitten... thankfully!

However, I was once taking a nap in my bed, with little puppy Fozzie in my arms. It was a sweet moment until numbskull shifted to get comfortable and threw his head against my nose in the process. I woke up, confused, with blood gushing from my nose. Just awesome. D=

aren't you lucky..:p sheesh

MY all time favorite vet that REALLY CARED stopped to help a collie that had been hit. THe dog latched on to his arm and died causing some serious damage. Guess he was putting himself in a stupid situation..or maybe he was willing to take the risk to help a creature in deep trouble.
I got bit a great deal from working with hunting dogs that had not been properly trained from get go. Normal kennel work would never give you the same kind of contact. GLad you were so smart not to get involved in a situation like that..but then again, that is what taught me to be the trainer that i am. Don't think i would trade.

I'm lucky. The only dog-related mark I have on me is from when Shye was sitting beside me about two weeks ago and River, obnoxious as ever, starts pawing at Shye's face. After the forth time paw-to-face contact was made Shye bared his teeth and River bared back.. not wanting to be in the middle of a dog fight, I popped River on the nose and told him to knock it off and told Shye that was enough and apparantly Shye didn't agree. Ransom came up on the other side and went to jump on Shye as I was going to push Ransom back and in .5 seconds, Shye bit out at Ransom as he'd had enough and my thumb just so happened to be in the contact zone. It'll leave a little scar. Shye was instantaneously MORTIFIED.

Other than that and playful puppy bites, I've only ever been bitten or hurt by one dog... a chi that suddenly decided it wanted nothing to do with me and bit my finger.

I did get pulled through the yard as a child by a black lab. I don't think much was hurt there but my pride and maybe some pinched fingers. My hand had gotten caught in his collar, and then the owner called him and he took off like a blast of lightening.

All minor stuff for me. You learn pretty quick how to avoid it. Like Daisy- her tail is at the perfect height to smack you in the jewels, and she's dropped me to me knees more than once. Even with taking precautions like shielding and turning, it still happens. That tail is a weapon when it gets wagging hard.

Gunnar gave me a fat lip and blurred vision when he jumped for a toy and his concrete head hit me in the face.

The other day I was cutting up deer meat for them and put the cutting board with the little bits on the ground for him to lick. Daisy decided she wanted some and went past me towards him, Gunnar growled and launched at her, I stepped between them just in time to catch his teeth on the thigh. No blood but a good bruise.

And on Sunday at protection training, I was standing in front of the decoy when he came in, hit the suit, as he grabbed and tried to shake it, he slipped off and caught me on the chest with what felt like someone taking a pair of pliers and twisting. Another nice bruise but no blood.
