Well, there are violent Buddhists out there, just like there are violent [Jews/Christians/Muslims]. Look at Sri Lanka, for example, which recently ended a thirty year civil war between their Buddhist ethnic group (the Sinhalese) versus their Hindu ethnic group (the Tamils). Really nasty stuff happening on both sides.

Don't get me wrong, I think Buddhism, as a religion/philosophy, is awesome. But individual Buddhists aren't immune to extremism, because they are human. Their Google result is "nicer" than stereotypes like "Why are Jews so cheap", but it's still a stereotype.
