I would like to really see what the ring looks like. I can't tell really at all what it looks like from those pics. That may be part of the problem on why it isn't selling.

Let me know how selling it on ebay works out for you. I've been trying to sell my engagement ring now for a year... it's not easy especially in this economy

Better but its really blurry...

For the sort of money you are looking to get I suggest you find a photographer (if you don't know of one already) and spend a few dollars getting some really nice shots.

If I was going to drop serious cash on an item over the internet I want to REALLY see what I am getting. Check out the other diamond rings in the same value range... that is what you are competing with.... they all have very pro looking pics.

Put more keywords in your title, not really about the description of it. Think would people would be searching for your ring to come up

Like 1 carat, diamond, engagement, ring, etc. And they can go in then and look at the appraised amount and such..

Ditto on the needing a non-blurry picture.

Unfortunately if you look at the other rings on sale, even some at $1500 are not selling, so you'll have to get lucky :(

I have a ring that cost $800 at the time, and I can't even sell it for $100...

I'm not really sure about other people, but if I was going to shell out 18 grand for a ring, I wouldn't be looking on ebay. Id be going around to all the nicer jewelry stores. Why don't you take it to a jewelry store and have them sell it for you. They'll keep a % but its better than having the ring sitting around for a year. Just my .02

HOLY CRAP. 1 ct for 18k? That is some diamond!

Unfortunately, I don't know too many people willing to spend that much money on ebay...

I personally don't think the appraisal is correct because I can get an E color, Interal Flawless, excellent cut, 1 carat GIA certified diamond at a reputable jewerly store for much less than that!

I agree with everyone else that you may want to bring your ring to a jewerly store and sell it there. Granted that you may not get what it's appraised for, but they do buy back diamonds, and give you a pretty good price for them. Do you remember how much you paid for your ring? If you can show the jewery stores the receipt, I think they normally pay you 10 - 15% less of the purchased price.

Yeah...I went ring shopping with a friend for his fiance, and he got similarly spec'd diamond (1.5 cts) for $10k.

Have you gone to multiple appraisers?

I know a couple people who traded rings they where never going to get money back on on craigslist.

One had someone work it off taking care of her elderly mother while she worked and another got a beater car that was great on gas.

You could put up sell/trade adds saying you'll barter for work on your house/car/yard. Cash would be nicer but nothing is selling.

Definitely need better pics whatever you do. Most cameras have a setting for close ups but some are better than others. Get a pic on the hand and on a piece of glass to really show it off. I got my picture taking glass from a craft store. Think it was made for displays.

I'd be looking to sell through a specialist jewler if it is worth that much.

Considering you're only starting at $5k anyway, the commission they ask would prob still be worth it.
