Sigh. It's been a really long day.
Backstory: My cousin and her husband went to San Diego last Saturday and my mom watched her 5 year old Boxer, Cooper, while she was gone. They were coming back tomorrow, but her husbands brother came back Thursday, so he picked up Cooper.
Yesterday morning, they said she didn't seem right, so he took her to the vet. They had to then rush her to the E-Vet because she had fluid in her lungs. Cooper died last night of congestive heart failure. My mom feels terrible, but she's never had a boxer, and didn't know anything was wrong. Mocha, their dog, would NOT leave Coopers side though. In retrospect, she knew.
RIP Cooper
Today I went to my moms house, and my niece was there, but my sister in law was not. I asked where they went, and she told me they just took their lab, Rossi, to the humane society. Rossi does not like strangers until he gets to know you on his own terms. When anyone came to their house, they would have to leave him alone until HE decided to be your friend. He has growled at my niece twice. Once about a month ago, and once the other day. Instead of keeping him away from her until she could figure something out, or taking me up on my offer to take him and find him a home, (was actually gonna see if anyone on here would take him,) she runs off while I'm at petsmart and surrenders him. He will NOT pass the evaluation, so in my eyes, he has already been put to sleep. He was 5.
RIP Rossi, I will miss you more than words can explain.
