I recently met someone new, Kate. I see her around, we talk sometimes, hang out with the same people, etc.

Anyway, Kate talks about someone named "Molly". I figured Molly was a friend, but then after a while i started to think maybe Kate was gay, and Molly was her girlfriend or someone special, because of the way Kate talked about her.

Then, someone said something along the lines of "Who do you love most" or something, and Kate's answer: "Probably Molly, but she doesn't love me. She just uses me to go outside and get peanut butter."

Molly? Not a Lesbian lover. A basset Hound.

There is a gentleman down the street who is a Moroccan immigrant. He's straight, has a kid, and is a Muslim (if not a very devout one). He also has a black German Shepherd, named Lucas, whom Sarama thinks is the most wonderful being on the planet. (I agree with her, Lucas is a fantasic dog).

Anyway, I'm sitting out on Lucas' owner's front steps, talking with him about dogs. And he's talking about how much he loves Lucas, and about his life with Lucas . . . and then he pauses and says, "You know, he's like my lover, really . . .well, except for THAT."

hahahhaha.......Hey, I totatlly understand! People I work with shake their head because my desk, computer, wall, and even coffee mug have Orson on them! I do have one small pic of each of my children, but Orson is definitely more obvious when you see my space!

my mom has a tiny little picture of me and one of my brother in her office, and two huge pictures of Milo and Benji next to them.

I talk about my dogs entirely too much as well...well, like people usually talk about their kids. I'll throw "my dog did this today" stories right along side other ladies saying "Larry took his first steps today!"

Over the summer I saw some people I hadn't seen in a couple years. I asked them if they wanted to meet the love of my life. I could see several of them glance at my left hand looking for a ring.

They loved Eve after they got over the initial shock. :)

People still do not know my boyfriend is not named Cougar. That Cougar is my horse. It's rather humorous. People are aware Bandit is a dog though they think I'm crazy because I talk about him enough to be my child. Whenever someone starts blundering on about something I always drag the conversation back to "Yeah, Bandit doesn't like that."

The more obvious pictures in my mom's office are of the dogs. There is one or two little pictures of me and my sister, and multiple pics of the dogs. Sometimes I tease my mom about loving the dogs more than her own children :p.

My parents have friends who always include their dog (bichon) in the family portrait taken for their Christmas cards. :)
