Well if you were a puppy I'd say you lost a milk tooth and not to worry :) How do you mean a hole? Like a pit where a tooth should be or on the side. Like Nicco said, does it hurt? Are your gums swollen, do they bleed when you brush your teeth?

I don't know about a pit suddenly appearing but gingivitis can cause your gums to swell and also shrink back from the teeth themselves. This can make larger spaces between the gums and teeth. It doesn't happen overnight though and it doesn't go away by itself.

So again echoing Nicco ... get thee to a dentist.

It doesn't hurt, but it feels funny.Like weird..

It feels like I lost a tooth. It's in the far back behind all my other teeth.

It's like a small hole, like when you were little, and lost teeth..????

I work Tomorrow and Friday, and my dentist is closed on weekends :(
What now?

Is it past all of your other teeth? Between the last tooth and your, errr... mouth wall/jaw? Lol... I don't know 'mouth' terms...

I have a hole from where my wisdom teeth were, but if you haven't had those out, I would just advise a visit to the dentist. :)

It's behind ALL of my teeth. Like where I would assume my wisdom teeth would be.

It almost feels like I feel a root there....

It's behind my molars if that helps. Like I said, can't get to the dentist till next week :(

I think it's got to do with your wisdom teeth...how old r u? (sorry I don't know)...I'm 23 and I almost have my all wisdom teeth...You won't feel a thing if you want to remove them...the doctor will give you an anesthesis...but you should see a dentist though, after the weekend

I turned 21 in September. Is that the right age?

Will I need to take time off work to heal??

Do I have to wait until they grow in before removing them?

don't stress too much. =] if your nerve was exposed, it would hurt amazingly bad, so it definitely is not.

your wisdom teeth could be coming in... if there's plenty of space there, you won't need them to be pulled. just call your dentist and ask, they'll probably give you some good advice and you can make an appointment when you can.

I just got x-rays, and I have no wisdom teeth! r00lz!

you don't have to remove your wisdom teeth if they don't bother you;it's normal for them to appear...yes..I think that's about the right age for them to appear.
Good luck!

They don't have to be actually coming through to get them out. None of mine had actually broken through yet when I got them out. They put me out and I woke up with a bunch of gauze in my mouth. My cheeks were a little puffy for a day or so and I was careful to rinse out my mouth so no food got caught anywhere. You may not even need them to come out. I spent a year and a half in braces so I didn't want to take any chances that might screw up my straight teeth. :D But if you do it's not a big deal....it was a pretty slick procedure for me. You may not even need to take time off, but if you do it wouldn't be much. Like I said, you may end up with some puffy cheeks for a few days and somtimes you may get a little bruiseing. Just depends on the person.

Thanks guys. I'm totally freaking out.

I went thru all the scenarios...LOL..I'm so dramatic.

Can I not drive right after the surgery? Because I have no one to transport me...Will I be on drugs?

Ugh, I've always dreaded this day. I hope they don't start to bother me. It feels really weird.

Thanks again guys. I really appreciate it. And I'm sure Friskie and Dulce do too...LOL they know mommies a hypochondriac :D

Yeah, you won't be able to drive. You'll probably be a little.....out there. I didn't have a problem with it but my older brother had some problems. He's a pretty big guy and my mother is a petite little gal, so when she had to help him down the stairs and into the car it got a little interesting. He had no memory of waking up or walking out of the office afterwards, lol.

Oh yeah, and my doc gave me some pretty wicked pain pills. I wasn't feeling anything, lol!

well it sounds like to me that you have a very rare condition known as Skolasticohl Holyosis, and it can be very, very serious. usually is caused by swallowing small amounts of saliva over a rather long period of time.

you don't swallow your spit.........do you?

tsk tsk.

here's a pic of the instruments they use to repair the damage:

put to sleep? what in the world. I think thats another way to charge more money for a simple job. my girl friend had all 4 taken out while awake.

It doesnt require you to be knocked out. I got two taken out while awake.

Now the aftermath... thats a different story. My girlfriend ate right after, but she's weird.
Me on the other hand. I was out of service for 4 days.

it doesnt hurt when you get it done, it's just afterwards,.

I have to disagree. I was knocked out when I had my wisdom teeth pulled and had no problems at all. A few days on the couch with good pain meds and I was as good as new.

A few years later I had to have a tooth pulled while awake and it was the most horrifying experience! You have to have your mouth open soooo wide it feels like your jaw will break. When they are pulling, twisting and yanking on the tooth the noise is horrible. I also have a high tolerance to novicane (sp) so it did hurt, tears were running down my face.........never again for me. Knock me out, charge me as much as you want but I will be in la la land if I need another one pulled.
