My teeth were crowded and I already had 4 teeth pulled and braces. Then the dentist was wanting to take my wisdom teeth out, but he said that they do not usually mess up the other teeth. And most dentists wont tell you that cuz they want you to get them out. So I figure if he is telling me that then they probably wont.

He still wants me to get them out though just cuz usually in the future they cause problems and you have to get them out. But it is too expensive. And my sis had a horrible experience with her's, she also cannot tolerate pain pills.

If I get mine done though I will be on vallium and pain pills. No IVs and anesthetics for me.

Good luck at the dentist though! Hope it isn't anything too serious!

UPDATE:

Nothing came of it. It IS a wisdom tooth, but won't fully "erupt" for about 6 months to a year.

I have the OPTION to remove it. Unless it gets infected, I won't touch it.

I already have my annual cleaning appointment Jan 8, so I'll see how it is then.

Thanks guys :)

Having that done is no biggie! ;) My dad said all they did for his was like tap it with some thingy lol and it popped right out! :D

I had four permanent teeth pulled before I got braces back in middle school.
I have also had 3 of my four wisdom teeth pulled.
I never went to an oral surgeon, but I did have a great dentist! And I never was put under either........but had shots of novacaine, and I also need triple the amount so I don't feel the pain.
If you ask me, getting a filling is far more tramatic and painful than getting a tooth pulled.
Unless of course they are still under the gums and are being removed.:yikes:

glad it's nothing serious!

i'm hugely dental-phobic. hugely. i need to find a dentist to knock me out just for routine stuff. i had two of my wisdom teeth out several years ago, and they knocked me out completely for it. it was no big deal. i was swollen and sore for awhile, but i was in so much pain beforehand that the pain afterward was almost a relief. that really sucked.

Me too! I am SO freaked out by the dentist! I can not stand it! When I had my first cavity (years ago), my friend had to go with me and hold me hand and that still didn't help! I can not even go for cleaning and haven't gone, in years! I am sooo scared!

Lol........after I had the two wisdom teeth pulled on the same side... We went out to the bars afterward. I have a great fear of dentists too...almost like a panick attack... And from my experience the worst part is before the appt. During the appt, they try to make me comfortable....then afterwards, it is such a relief to have it over... I feel like I could climb the highest mountain. Or drink the biggest beer. ;)

I need to go back to the dentist......and with your posts, I just might be brave enough to make an appt. :)
