I am seriously looking into bringing the pup RD is getting to Canada...

I know nothing about arranging a flight, it would be from Tucson AZ to Syracuse NY...

I am only a few hours from Syracuse....

Any advice??

LOL just did! I thought of that after posting this... I am optimistic but until I have RD's approval and everything in place I don't dare get too excited..

LOL your inbox is full, so here's what I was going to send you:

Yep! I advise that you have her shipped via Delta to Syracuse. I used Tucson Intl Airport to Minneapolis.

You'll need to pay for a health certificate (about $100) and the shipping (which is around $350 I think)

Here's the blog post I wrote about our experience:

What about American airlines? They ship from Tucson to Syracuse... The calculator gave me a rate, did not mention time of year restrictions... May call them tomorrow

Wow you are much better than me at finding fine print...

I think if we get on it pretty fast we may be ok? Have to talk more to RD...

The Tucson leg may be tricky though, not sure how fast seasonal temps get that high there...

See if you can get her transported from Tucson to Denver and then ship from Denver to Syracuse. Our temps aren't going to get all that warm for a while yet.

or you might be able to ship later at night or early early morning when temps are still lower.

The handlers I work for have done that all the time.. when sending dogs home from other parts of the country.

This. I can help with a transport and I'd love to meet that puppy. :)

Chloe was shipped from WA to FL on Continental in late May, if that helps. I think it was a 5-6 hour long flight, too. She landed pretty late at night.

It's also possible to dodge that heat restriction by flying a puppy out very early in the morning or late at night. I don't think the temperature would be too bad in NY, it's the AZ heat we'd be worried about, so it may be possible to arrange a flight at 4 or 5 AM.

Keep looking into it if you guys can! When I get home this weekend I will help.

That's what I am hoping( early am ), I talked with them and can't move any further until I have a date to give them to work with though so I'll wait until you get home RD to see what we can pull off!
