She is gorgeous. I do hope you get to keep her, obviously she wasn't getting taken care of in her previous home.

so any word? Have the owners reclaimed her? I'm hoping not because she really wants to be with you, it is very obvious. I hope they don't come for her and she gets to stay with you.

Yes it's not a good situation :( Poor dog! Any idea if the humane society does anything if people have a dog they let go loose? I would just call them, not mention the dog, but tell them you know someone who lets their dog loose, and if there is any way the dog could be rehomed or something... They may be able to help you I would think. If not, it really sucks.

Here's Micah!!!! I absolutely saw NO GSD in her at first, but when I was around her more, she gets the cutest GSD expressions and has that "low butt" GSD swagger going on! She's SOOOO CUTE and GENTLE and GOOD!!! It's like she FOUND GRAMMY! She's a gentle giant...

Here she comes just-walkin'-down the lane goin' walka-walka-walka-walka, LOL!

To give you some perspective of her hugeness (just look at those paws!), when she's standing next to me and raises her head, her nose is about at my chin level. Mind you I'm short, but STILL!!!

Pisses me off that her "owner" is so non-challant about finding her. KNOWING she crosses a VERY BUSY road to go where she's been going. In my mind, they probably feel relieved of their "burden". They don't deserve to have such a wonderful dog that they're not even aware of even having. I truly feel that Yogi sent Hunter my way, and now I feel my Mom's Bubba sent Micah her way... knowing she just wants a big mutt who's lovable....

True ...if it's meant to be, Amen. The vet said Chip could drop dead at anytime...but I don't dwell on it. Yes, I love big dogs, but she bigger than I am !!! I just don't know how I can afford vetting 2 dogs !! She's scratching and biting a bit ( fleas ?? ... haven't seen any ) and will treat her if they don't call by this weekend. Sigh ! Guess I'll have to contact the Rainbow Bridge at prayer time and ask for a sign.

Grammy, I truly believe she is there for a reason; maybe just to love, honor and cherish you if nothing else. Hope everything will be ok. Sorry to hear the sad news though.
I will say a prayer for all of you tonight. Try not to let the uncertainty upset you to much. Somehow it will all workout. Just have faith, it will be ok.

Oh what a beautiful dog. It's true that mastiffs are so loving and devoted to their families. If she took to you like this, she must need your love and knows you will give your love to her. Kona, who is part neopolitan mastiff, now sleeps in bed with us. She sleeps as close to one of us as possible like she wants to feel our love. It's a great feeling. I do send my thoughts and prayers for Chip.

Thanks everyone ! I've done alot of soul searching ...I'm dropping a letter off at their house today to call me....maybe they don't want her back, we'll see. she only stayed in bed 3 hours last night, so I was able to stetch out. Woke up during the night and she was in Chip's bed and he on her quilt....Last night both started out with me.....hope my antique bed can take over 300#s....sure creaked a lot !!

One thing is for sure, Grammy, you'll always be safe with her! And one day you realize that all you have to do is stretch out your hand and a big head quietly insinuates itself underneath your fingers, padding along silently by your side . . .

Awww Saje, that was sweet. I found out from Grammy that night before last she's begun sleeping in bed with her!!!! Mind you, Grammy is small and all that, but she has a maple wood TWIN bed from the 1800's these dogs are sleeping on with her!! She said that Micah was stretched out (she HAS to be longer than the dang bed!) and put her huge paws on Grammy's chest and reached her big lug head up and kissed her!!!!!!! I think I'm going to cry...

LOL Amy, I didn't say anything.

I think that dog needs Grammy and probably grammy needs her. I'm sure it will all work out how it's supposed to.

Well, I went by the house today and though there were many worker cars around and could see anyone ( didn't look too hard !) I left my note in the mail box ( which had mail ) I left Chip and Micah home ( I didn't want to take her in case someone was home) Well ... this was the first I had left them both home. I came home to a trash bag on the floor ( was in sink ) and saw the ceramic dog bone jar was off the counter. This was a special award to Bubba for a contest.... Well, I found the jar in the hall unbroken ( !!! I have a ceramic tile floor !!) empty of course , and a very submissive female on her back saying " the devil made me do it!" Chip had a smile on his face. I had wondered as she's looked at the counter ( Lord, she can put her chin on it !) but I've never seen her paws on the counter . So now I know .....prepare the house like I do when Hunter's here ! I wanted to test.. I got my answer ! All else was in order.
