OH man.....

this morning I had a dream that Obama was killed and McCain had a heart attack and died and we had to start the election process all over again with new candidates.

Was a very weird dream

Seriously! :rofl1:

I'm going to need the next 2 years to recovering from this before campaigning starts all over again. This morning I was watching TV while drinking my coffee, and almost every "commercial" was a political bashing one. I can't wait for it to end.

wow--just wow--what a shame you all are joining in the political mudslinging--vote for your candidate, and leave it at that. Why the need for all the name calling, etc?
I just don't get it--probably never will. And don't take my commentary as support or lack of support for any candidate---I just think our right to vote is a serious one, and should be taken that way--but maybe with some maturity? Or is that asking too much?

not everyone--but I have to agree that they leave alot to be desired, and may not bring out the best in any of us--this is a great example of it.

OH man, we were watching TV last night and a 90 second commercial break came on. EVERY ONE of the commercials were Candidate bashing commercials. When a Power Scooter commercial finally came on, I cheered.

It was the last commercial that came on before the show came back on.

I saw a good bit of them last night as well... they really make me cringe... they're just so tacky.

There were a couple in a row, and then a commercial started up with kids swinging outside. I thought: "oh good... finally a non-political commercial."

I was wrong, lol. It was about how our kids are in danger if we vote for congressman so-and-so.

I think, Bax, that the tone is set by the candidates' campaigns themselves. What are we bombarded with at each election? Issues and plans? Or name-calling and finger-pointing?

I see almost none, the joys of living in NY

I wish I lived in NC or FL or OH so I could see the commercials.

I know--I wish we could perhaps rise above it--but like I said, I probably will never understand why people feel a need to join in on this stuff. Just me.

Its unfortunate how towards the end of (any) election, you only get the feeling that the candidates are campaining AGAINST eachother, rather than for themselves.

geez, take the stick out. Lighten up. Most of what I've seen on the forums is all in good fun. You'll live a lot longer if you can laugh at things instead of becoming high and mighty. You say maturity - I say sense of humor. I think some of the things I've seen on both sides are pretty ingenious and some are downright hilarious (a few are rather offensive). If that makes me immature *shrug* then so be it. I'd rather be immature than put on airs, just like I'd rather find the humor in politics than run around pulling my hair out screaming. Life's too short!

I agree with you, but it catches peoples' attention. I've seen both sides, German elecetions in Germany and German elections in the US, Ive also seen American elections in the USA and US elections in Germany. Guess who gets the most attention of ANY election? USA. All the tackyness and craziness gets people to notice and see how important it is. The debates between Obama and McCain were actually interesting! If I watch a debate here for our elections, Ill last 5 minutes before I fall asleep. Many people don't even know who they are voting for, Im not saying its different in the USA, but at least it catches you interest more, than other elections.
