Its left on, around here there are to many dogs that run free. I dont want to take a chance one of mine busts out without their tags.

Mine always have theirs on, but technically, they could both slip out of them if they really wanted to. Roxie has a narrow head and Joey has a fat neck.

Mine hasnt even worn a collar in months. I use a harness at the dog park with him and remove it when we get home. so he is always naked. His collars bother his neck and cause knots becuase he tries to scratch them of lol.

Dash and Dakota both wear very slim, soft, comfortable collars so their are on 24/7. Eve wears a wider collar and I take hers off at night, but I also always remember to put hers back on in the morning - my parents don't remember their dogs' collars.

Sometimes I take it off, but I usually leave it on. Sometimes my parents like to get her up in the mornings for some "Dance time" if they're up before me, and I don't trust them to put it back on.

Mine sleep with it on if they sleep on the bed, off if they sleep in their crates. They always have them off if they're crated or if I'm not around to keep an eye on them. Tyr's usual collar is a fursaver, which is like a choke, but any time he's loose with me and wearing his collar, outside of training, I switch him to either a flat collar or a prong collar. I have witnessed prong collars breaking apart and coming off if they get caught on something, so I don't worry about that too much.

My dogs only get their collars on when we are leaving the house. For a walk, trip to the supply store, or whatever.

Other wise, no collars on :)

Other than once in a while to brush out her neck fur or for a scratch, Sarama's collar never comes off. Its her first and best line of protection if she somehow gets loose (its also a handy thing to grab if for some reason I need to restrain her). Her collar says . . . I am a pet, I have a home, I'm probably friendly, please help me. A dog could have no better protection if loose. As for the need to restrain her . . . I'm not sure why I'd have to in the middle of the night, but I'm certain that if I did need to . . I'd REALLY need to.
