Enough to level a small town. My Doberman is odoriferous enough to make my girl Chihuahua walk away, glaring at him over her shoulder as she retreats. Does that answer your question? LOL.
I can totally see that. :)

Bruzer our pug is horrendous. Gunnar will sometimes gas you out as you sleep, the stealth attack, bad enough to wake you up. Midnite is well, Midnite, and with her health issues of late, all kinds of strange odors have been coming from her direction.

Notice how it's only the big dogs?

M&M, I think you're just lucky to have little dogs with little farts that disperse before you really get nasally assaulted.
Zoom may be on to something here, HEHEHE, since they are sooo small, the amount of air released at a time is insignificant in most cases.
AND perhaps since they are lower to the ground by the time the tiny little fart gets to your nose it's too late for the smell. :)

My rotties would fart all the time and it was horrific having 3 of them all indoor dogs. Lola is a small dog and I've NEVER known her to fart... if she has.. it didn't make a sound or have a smell when I was around.

Boomer is our new addition... I haven't notice him farting as of yet.. but I'm sure that will change. I would never get lucky enough to have two dogs that didn't fart...lol.

My cat never farts either.... but I'm sure cats on the whole do fart.

Most of the farting comes from my "pull my finger" husband. He can fart on the drop of a dime and often sounds like he's just left a load of fecal matter in his pants...lol.

OMG! I envy you! Please, I don't mean this as an insult or to make fun of you, but....if it's taken you this long to wonder if your dog farts, you must have some incredibly clean and non-smelly dogs.

But yes, dogs fart. It's perfectly normal. It's usually silent and smells absolutely disgusting. Some fart more often then others. My Voodoo, for example, is a little gas factory. He leaves us gagging and choking several times a day. Zeus isn't usually, but even he has the occassional bad day.

Needless to say, I wish I had dogs like yours!
Smokey nevers farts, and I think it has something to do with their diet. Maybe Natural Balance should include "fartless" on their label......

Ohhhhh yeahhhhhh! :D

3 of them have the silent but deadly type every once in awhile. My female will often fart pretty loud when she is barking, it's funny because we would always start laughing at her and make farting noises back at her so now when she farts she automatically looks at me or my husband, waiting for our reaction. :D

Sorry Bob, Natural Balance is pretty good food, but it's not that good. That's what Lyric does eat. The other night, as he was sleeping on my bed with me, there were multiple blasts. My room is small and literally....I thought I was being poisoned by a noxious gas, like when you mix amonia and chlorox together. I had to open my window and it was 15 below zero F. I had to!

:lol-sign: Ahhhh... that was a good laugh! *wipes tears away*

T-Bone doesn't only fart... she lets them rip. Try to explain to people that the loud toot of doom didn't come from yourself but the sweet innocent looking dog next to you :p
T-Bone clears a room. More than once have I checked the whole house, because I was sure she had an accident in some corner... but nope...she "only" let one go. I should be happy, that must kill every living bacteria around. :)

OMG, I've never laughed so hard and so long like this!! Each and every one of your responses confirms my luckiness in the dog-farting department! Whew!

Maybe this is why I only noticed these horrendous smells when I happened to be sitting when it occured :D

Do dogs fart? Haaaaa! You should come sit next to my dogs. DeeJay the pit/boxer farts every now and then and he can clear the whole house. Even the cats go running. Now we just got Sasha the 10 week old Boxer and she farts all the time. It smells like a sewer i tell ya. So you are not alone!!!!

You have never owned a labrador obviously. WE had company once, everyone sitting more or less in a circle. THe dog laying on the floor in the middle. The man that sat near "that" end had raised his collar over his nose. WE all just got the lighters and lit them and laffed at him.

LOL Bob. It's probably not the food. Dobermans are known for having sensative tummies a lot.

Well I have. Now, have you ever owned a Labrador and a Doberman at the same time??? In the same room???? Now just try to beat that! LOL.

Lawson is so long that I think air gets stuck because when he stands on his hind leggs and extends his body he lets them rip. They are loud but not smelly.
Titus on the other hand has the silent but deadly ones. He can clear a room pretty quick.
Both eat Natural Balance.

If we could can that stuff it would probably do a better job than mace or halt! The swat team may even check into it to replace tear gas!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
