For some reason once I saw a black Mal I didn't like it nearly as much as I thought I would. I still love a nice Groen but I think for mals I'll stick to my Mahogany and Dark sables.

I recently am becoming infatuated with stripes though. I am sure it's a passing phase but a friend from Splash dogs recently got a dutch puppy and the pictures are just killing me on FB.

I've met a couple black Mal import pups out of the KNPV program that are being raised by an officer as dual purpose PSD prospects. I kind of love the coloring myself.

^ Beautiful dog! Would love this coat type
Really pretty dog! I think Koolies with a longer coat are pretty, but I prefer the short coats (thanks to Dance - I'm tired of toe hair trimming, lol). But that dog in a short coat would pretty much be my ideal looking Koolie!

I really do like the prick eared fringy Koolies (Shut UP Charlotte, I still think Quinn looks awesome nekkid). I think it comes from my love of Saluki's and an almost smooth coat with some fun fringe.

Also, Oakash, you gotta meet Traveler one of these days (And then bring Suzie so we can get her and Macky together so they can be disgusted with stupid dogs together)

So out of curiosity does the Trav man carry fringe/longer coat genes to your knowledge, or is he a smoothie through and through?

I don't believe so. His dad (Andy) is from an outcross (Borahview) to another Kennel. Leith who is the breeder of that kennel has dogs with a little more coat (and you can see that in Traveler's father) but they are still smooth coated. Now, I don't have any pictures past Traveler's great grandfather on the Borahview side so I'm not sure. But on the Toolalla side it's smooth coats for generation upon generation.

But, I do have a few breeders who have rough coated dogs that I really like (one of which looks like Steve, one of my Koolie friends is in love with Steve Elegy) and might just consider one day.

There you go, more information than you ever wanted :rofl1: Just be happy that didn't come with visuals.

So he could be a carrier for more coat, but probably not, and if he is it's not much more coat.

And wait, there's a visual option and you DIDN'T post pics? I am shocked and appalled...like anyone here has ever complained about koolie photo dumps...share! *hopeful*

I will take a Fila puppy please. I prefer brindle or fawn or even blue fawn, but color is secondary to a proper temperament! And I would like a male please. I don't think I want to own a Fila bitch the first time I own a Fila! lol

And I don't think I'd mind having this either (sans the horrible crop job):

Oh, and not a dog...but I WANT!!! Going in to Petsmart lately has been torture because they have such cute piggers. But, I cannot have as long as I have ferrets and I hope to God that my ferrets aren't going anywhere anytime soon.
