How many of you have ever transported your dog in a convertible? How about a two-seater convertible? What size was your dog? Was it a pain? Was it a regular thing or just once?

Color me curious. . .

My brother took Miya (the moose of a GSD) in his little miata one time.
She doesn't do well in the car, and gets car sick, so it wasn't pretty... :rofl1: Actually, it was pretty much a disaster

But I ride with him occasionally, and Maddie sits in my lap. That went perfectly fine :) His car is really little >.<

Once, at FOHA, there was an american bulldog named Titus and he used to be picked up every weekend by his favorite person in that person's seabring convertible and they'd ride to the park or something. That dog loved his rides in the convertible. He never tried to get out or anything. I don't know that he was buckled in or anything like that.

I've ridden in one with my best friend driving, me in the passenger seat, her sister in the back seat, and three dogs. Maggie and her GSD Rocky were in the back seat, and her sister's little Chihuahua mix was in my lap.

My mom used to drive a 4 seater convertible mustang. We pretty regularly transported our dogs in it. Usually they just sat in the front seat with someone holding them. If I ever did it again, I would use a seatbelt. We kept the windows up with the dogs in the car to reduce stuff potentially flying in their eyes.

My brother has a convertible and he just rides with his dog in the passenger seat (he has a lab mix, around 60 pounds I'd guess)
His dog wears a harness and he ties it to the bottom part of the chair. Sort of like a ghetto dog seatbelt lol

With Romeo, he just sits in the passenger seat as well, usually on somebodys lap. It's A LOT of fun and most dogs love it (it's like sticking your head out of a window lol)

My bros dog also has a pair of doggles, since he rides in the car with the top down all the time and he didn't want to risk him getting something in his eye or something.

To those who don't know what doggles are lol

It's a regular thing, they go to work together everyday, or the beach on the weekends.
It's not a pain at all, at first it was hard getting him to learn to just SIT and RELAX in the passenger seat (especially when he was a puppy) but they did slow test drives around the neighborhood at first and now he just sits there and ignores other dogs on the sidewalks and stuff.
And the car is a two seater.

From my experience i can say, i did not transport him, an american staffordshire terrier in a convertible but very often on the back of the pick up.
I dont know if its specific him, but from the driving wind he often gots eye infections since dogs tend to stick their head against the wind. I dont know maybe its also only him, but i would consider the driving wind and possible infetion, definetly.
