Firenze is now officially Stitch, which suits him better. He's 6.5 months old now and has his first show this month... yikes! He's also taller than Rowan now... double yikes!

Gah everyone's puppies are adorable.

Sawyer did awesome with our 4th of July festivities today. I brought him to a bbq at my sister's house so he met some new adults, some kids (we haven't been around any since I got him), and hung out with her 2 dogs although so far he really just has very minimal interest in other dogs. But he did great, loved the kids and had so much fun chasing my nephews around as they played with their football.

Then we went to a friend's for a bonfire and again, more new people and at this point fireworks were starting to go off. He did not care lol he just had fun running around.

So far our biggest hurdle is crate training, he could probably be worse but he doesn't settle unless he is TIRED. At night there is no issue but during the day can be hit or miss, and if he's not passed out asleep then he is screaming.

He also played with Juno for the first time

Took him to his first parade yesterday morning. He did ok even with a wild 6ish mth GSD puppy trying to get to him. Morgan flipped out at the cars revving their engines for some reason. Krypto pinned against him when I pulled Morgan into my lap. Then continued to provide pressure until he was calm!

OMFG guys October is so far away.
And then the breeding has to take. And puppies have to be born. And then they have to get old enough to bring home.

OMFG. This may actually be worse than not knowing when or where I'll get my next dog.

Gaaahhhh so Sawyer is wonderful and I know we'll get over this but I am so sick of the amount of pee he produces!! He can easily pee 3+ times within a half hour, and I make the mistake of thinking "oh he just peed outside, I can probably let my guard down for 15 minutes..." NO. NO I CAN'T.

I'm normally so good at housebreaking. Juno was signaling at the door when she was 10 weeks old. Cajun came to me at 14 months old not housebroken, and we had that resolved within a week. I just can't seem to make it through a day without any less than 3 accidents from Sawyer. I know the issue is that I'm splitting my attention and think I can do things like cook dinner and clean the bathroom while still keeping an eye on him. And I can't. But for some reason I feel terrible crating or tethering him for these things. I just think he spends enough time crated as it is.

Oh and he's totally capable of holding it for a couple hours in his crate, so it's not an issue of not being able to hold it. Good thing the only room in my house with carpet is my bedroom, and I just keep that room closed off all day!

He's only 8 weeks... it's just getting old

Can you gate him in the kitchen with you while you're cooking dinner?

Welcome to my life with Abrams as a puppy. And then add in the fact that he was/is an excited urinator so every time I'd prep to take him out he'd piddle....

Oh my God, I don't want to do that again. Ever. He had to go out, like, 5 times an hour. It was rediculous.

But there is hope: Abrams is 110% housebroken now, no issues, even trustworthy loose. It just took him almost a year to gain full bladder control. -.- I think he developed like a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog puppy....

I could probably work something out but he'd still pee haha. I haven't been able to figure out his pee signals. He's always jusy waddling around and then *squat*.

Now that you mention that about Abrams I remember you posting about his issues! But that doesn't sound fun lol.

There's still time for a slip up today but so far we're accident free and it's just about 7pm. Fingers crossed he gets a gold star for perfection today or at least if he has an accident, maybe it's only 1?? Lol.
