I guess I will throw my opinion out there...
I think its wrong for anyone to call someone names. Member or mod.
People say that she was in the wrong, so therefor it makes it ok for a mod to resort to name calling.
The member could be the rudest person you can imagine, but what good does it do to call names? If you want the member to start being nicer, then I dont think that would be the best way to go about it. If you think her behaviour will never change, then ban that person. Simple as that.
It is possible to explain to someone what they are doing wrong and that their behaviour is very disrespectfull without calling them a b!tch.
I also think that mods should be making good examples on here, but when we see them using name calling, then I guess we all can, right?
Another thing... a troll wants to get under your skin and see you crack. When you finally call them a b!tch or @ss hole then you just gave them exactly what they wanted, so they basically won. They want to upset you as much as possible and they get a thrill off of it.

it was supposed to be a PM, not a mod online randomly calling people names. PM means private...and that was between those two people. so...everyone else's opinion isn't necessary. just because casa chose to be immature and post it doesn't mean we all need to give input.

I said it before and I will say it again to all that chose to defend her actions. She took a personal message and posted it publicly only to further her need to cause an uproar. No one but the mods know what type of language she chose to use when posting PM's to them and I also say hats off to them for being more discreet in not making them public and for not making this into a fight between them and her. See what you want to see but I support the mod staff and think that this is another attempt by Casa to spread her venom and some of you choose to fall for it but me I wont because I have had more then enough of her and I personally hope that she seeks some counseling to come to grips with whatever makes her so mean spirited.

Ok, so I have a little confession. After about five minutes of scrolling and comparing pictures, it dawned on me that DemitriousK and Buddy's Parents had the same three dogs.

Well, it seems that I miss all the fun anymore and there isn't a big enough eye roll in this world for some of the things being said on this thread about the moderators.
If you want Mod Bots that only exist to search out flagged keywords and take out those posts and respond to things in a very cold and controlled manner, then go program some. Otherwise, face the fact that the mods are human. We're members first and moderators second. We get twice the buzz kill from problem members and threads because not only are we expected to deal with the problem, we know that some group of members is going to find fault with the way it was handled.
C'est la vie and we now return you to your regularly schedualed program.

Here's my applause to the mods. :hail: You all did an exceptional job, and if I were faced with Casa's incessant "Oh woe is me" crap, I'd have called her much worse.
You mods handled it well, if a derogatory term was used, so be it. It was done privately, and as far as I'm concerned, it's not my business (nor anyone elses) to tell the staff how to run the forum. They were obviously chosen as staff members for a reason.
Everyone has a limit. A human can only bite down on their tongue for so long before something gives.
Casa has pushed many a member past their breaking points, and I'm suprised her being called a bitch hasn't come sooner, and in public.
Again, I stick by "you reap what you sow." And boy did she sow.

Oh, I've got a fair idea -I am the admin of a dane board - which is where my empathy comes from...I know it's near impossible to please everyone, and sometimes you've just got to pick your battles. You win some, ya lose some..and in some cases, losing one here and there just ain't so darn bad in comparison to keeping them around.
Again, kudos to you all. Maybe I'm one of the "lucky" ones, but I've seen nothing but fairness displayed by the mods. I s'pose I could become a royal P.I.T.A. and see if they're really just big bullies, but then my halo would get tarnished.
Shadowface, both your posts are the best. I totally agree with you, but then I'm biased. You're so right....it isn't anyone's business how the forum is run and what the mods do or to assign them their duties. Ya know what? If someone doesn't like it here or doesn't like someone else, they can leave, just like Casa did. She isn't the only one who has "bashed" the mods in the past. Being a mod doesn't mean "representing" anything. Who told anyone that? Mods are here to be members, like anyone else and to run the forum. Being a mod doesn't mean relinquishing one's personality. If you like that sort if thing, there are those "Stepford" type forums out there.
