I have to say that I don't know any close friends of mine that breed... (I wonder why)...

In this case, I have a pretty good friend who has 2 beagles...one male and one female...

Her father...who lives hours away is a beagle breeder, gave her 2 dogs..

The first dog...a female, is a family pet, loved by everyone...including her 4 kids... very loved.........

so a little bit back, she decided to pimp out her bitch for money...she becomes pregnant... then I GET A CALL>...... AMY, can you help me deliver, I got Coco pregnant to make some christmas money, $600.00 per pup.

Of course, I am going to help, she delivered on Thanksgiving, one pup...I was there, BUT I had to leave for family stuff..... everything was going great... hours later, Cocoo, was almost dead. She delivered 8 pups, one died, her blood pressure dropped so low that the vet says she will indue some brain damage, and loss of sight. She had an emergacy c-section.... and the vet says she will NOT live a NORMAL LIFE SPAN or LIFE...

Was is worth it? Are we in need of Beagels so badley? They are living it, not me..they love her...she will never be the same.

But hey, as of today, she has sold 3 pups, sight unseen,,,, darn, i wonder how that is going to turn out....

But hey, I just had to speak... Also I was just offered a very good paying job, very good money wise, and I get to work with animals..... The bad side, I have to put some down. For all backyard breeders and breeders in general...(although, i know there are some great ones out there)...i will gladly post the pure breeds that I have to euthanize, never mind the mutts no one cares about...

I will be honest on my accounts, and when it starts I will give all the info so anyone who wants to check, can.
Just my two cents,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Poor Coco. :( It's sad that people will put their devoted friend in such a dangerous situation in order to make a few bucks.

*sigh*

Poor little girl :(.

When will people realize...? An animal that looks up to you, is devoted to you, would protect you with it's life... And then people do something like this :(.

Poor dog.

Around here you can get a purebred bealge with hunting parents for fifty bucks-why would anyone pay 600?

That's really too bad. Unfortunatley, the majority of breeders breed for the same reason.

I love my little boxer/pitbull mix. I also have a pure bred tiny toy poodle. It has been requested in the past that I breed her from the people i bought her from. hhhhmmmm. I told them they c ould forget it. I will never breed my puppy. she is a house dog, pure and simple. Soon she will be spayed. I am not breeding her for money, or anything else. She comes first.

You would not believe the people who want to breed our beagle. I will admit, she has great markings and is one of the loveliest beagles I have ever laid eyes on (What biased? Me?), but she is not in standard. To0 big. She is also ten years old and spayed. I just tell them they missed that train by about 9 1/2 years.

If your friend wants to make easy, quick Christmas cash doing something carelessly - tell her to wh0re herself out instead of her dog. What a sad story.

Thanks for the response... She is NOT giving the puppies out until 8 weeks old.

Also, just for the record, I am not trying to bash any respectable breeders out their either... I just hated that this "situation" had to happen.

I also agree with all you peeps said.....I was just so heartbroken, that I had to share...never mind I was a bit (lol) angry.
Take care, Amy

NEW NEWS.... She just told me she is going to ask her vet if it's o.k. to breed her again...
I said, "WHAT"? You almost lost her... she gave some reasons saying, that the er vet was at error... not her dog....

I wouldn't even take the chance... Just my opinion...

WHAT? And she's thinking about breeding again??? That's disgusting.

Did she end up loosing her sight, and all that?
