And what if the breeder I am really interested in is across the US from me?

Oh wait, I'm NEVER EVER supposed to buy a dog using the internet. Well crap that means I have way fewer choices of working line GSD breeders, since it would be impossible for me to get INTO a circle of folks with fabulous Schutzhund dogs on the other side of the US.

Sorry I don't buy into it just like I don't buy into the fact that great breeders can't sell their pups and just like I don't buy into never ever buying a dog using the internet.
I personally don't agree with never using the internet to find a breeder. I do disagree with people who just click a "pay now" button and get the dog without any screening, research etc. etc... I am not going to settle for a breeder just because they are close to me and I can see the dogs when I know of a better breeder states away through word of mouth etc.

I found my bulldog breeder through searching the Bulldog Club of America which led me to Mona's breeder and I bought Mona site unseen. I knew what I was doing and what I was looking for, not to mention the weeks of conversations between her breeder and I before making my final decision that she was the "one."

I think everyone has their opinions and their "you should never" statements, but honestly, I think each breeder should be judged on an individual basis and decisions made from there...

Well filly, we can always look at it this way. Forget that tight circle. That "pretty tight circle" and the internet must be a big thing to reputables, they even webcam birthing from dogs that have degraded elbows.

:yikes:
Maybe if you could actually view the webcam you would realize how off base your comments really are. The webcam proves the incredible amount of care and responsibility that has gone into Red's very special litter. You are out of line IMO to bad mouth her now, it's just not justified. But, this thread isn't about her and it should stay that way.

Smart arse comment? No. It's the truth.
My panties have been in a wad since the bashing and death of my Falcon, from my records RR was among the leaders.

Just giving back some love.

So incredible amounts of care is ok in that tight circle of reputables .. to breed a bitch with degraded elbows? Ok, I get the point. Have a good day.

since when did this potentially educational post turn into personal attacks. grow up people!

i wasnt aroudn for the whole falcon issue, he was a gorgeous cresti from the picture you showed me, but for god sake, this has NOTHING to do with him or that intial convo, if you have a PERSONAL problem with a member please talk about it via pm, its not nice to hijack threads for a personal vendetta.

Well, more like every breeder has that potential, yes.
Wouldn't you think? They have to start somewhere's you know. I'm sure puppymills and pimps didn't just go out one day and buy 10 dogs to start.

Good advise RR. :hail:
Granduer is the best in Belgium Working Breeding IMO.
I guess I'm not understanding your logic here. Why even buy a dog from any breeder, no matter how good you think they are, if they have the potential to become a puppy mill. To me it would seem like you are just enabling them to eventually become a miller.

Why should the buyer be held reliable for another persons choices or ethics of breeding? That's just silly.

It’s not necessary to be an editor or a language whiz or a spelling bee triathlete to to promote your self-worth, RR.

My dialect is Tenton, I never was too fond of English for some reason. Sorry to annoy you.
