Has a name, and it's Camden Pierce Hughes.

I don't know if anyone has heard news of the little boy who's body was found here, in Maine, not far from where I live. They had to digitally enhanced his deceased picture in order to put it out in the news so that someone out there could recognize him and figure out what happened to him, the poor little angel.

He was found last Saturday, by the side of a dirt road, covered in a blanket. Someone in the area did see a vehicle leaving the site, a blue pickup truck with some type of Navy logo in the back of it.


Today, the authorities found the truck in Massachusetts and arrested the mom who has confessed to killing him by giving him an overdose of medication.

My heart is broken! You can see her facebook page and read her wall. She sounds like any other loving mom, showing pictures of Camden and describing him in a loving way.

It's all so sad.

Nothign has been confirmed. A lot of what is being reported about this is rumors and not confirmed by the authorities. The only thing confirmed by authorities is that the woman has been taken to the hospital for evaluation. No charges have been filed yet and it is still not confirmed as a homicide investigation yet.

It's now been reported that the overdose was of cough syrup. She hasn't been charged but she is in custody and has confessed. Whether it was accidental or not, nothing is known yet. But my guess is accidental, but why not rush him to the hospital? Why dump him on the side of the road.

Sorry, I've been fixated by this since Sunday. I'm a bit over emotional about the whole situation.

She may have panicked. From a look at the article, this was a very troubled woman, possibly severely depressed. She also seems to have had problems dealing with the kid . . . if he died by accident, she might have just panicked, thinking she'd be blamed . . . people can be pretty irrational when they are upset and depressed. I agree rushing him to the hospital would have been the logical (and right) thing to do, but people aren't always logical.

I'm just glad they figured out who he was.

Preliminary autopsy has shown that he was asphyxiated and now are ruling this as a homicide. It doesn't seem to be a case of an accidental over dose.

Well, that at least resolves the question of why she abandoned the body. <sigh>
