Because we need out annual baby name thread. And because I have been thinking about baby names a lot.

for girl babies.
#1 on our list is Sloan. Love this name, and if our first baby is a girl it probably will be named Sloan, although I am having a hard time thinking of a middle name to go along with it.
#2 EverLeigh, although it sounds to close to Beverly, which is a name I don't like.
#3 Seren

For Boys, I really have no ideas, girl names are easier.
#1 is North, I love that name even before Kim K ruined it for me.
I love the name Bear, but Tyler hates it so we will probably make it a middle name.
Bjorn-Love, and it means Bear but we are not Norse, and its pretty Norse lol, well so is Sloan...

Im just bad with Boy names. I need to start making more of a list.

I know there is more names I like, but I can't think of any.

Boys:

Ron
Rory
Nykyrian
Jaiden
Seth
Dresden
Speirr(e)
Drakari
Isaac
K/Castiel

Girls:

Kateri
Kiernan
Ketzia

I'm not very good at girl names, lol. Most of these come from books- Ketzia comes from The Vampire Diaries, Castiel comes from SPN (obvs lol), Isaac comes from Teen Wolf.

Ron is obv HP, Rory is from Doctor Who, Nykyrian, Jaiden, Seth, Speirre, Drakari, and Kateri come from Sherrilyn Kenyon books. Kiernan is from the Touch books by Jus Acardo or however you spell that.

I have no desire to make babies, but I've always thought that Paige was the prettiest name for a girl. Elegant and pretty for a little girl or a grown woman.

I do like Xerxes (Zerk-zees) for a boy, but all the other kids would call him Jerk-ses, so I guess not. I also like Colt and Harrison.

Colt and Harrison are strong names. A boy named Colt would not be messed with in school :D

Well OBVIOUSLY Seren for a girl! That goes without saying :)

Heulwen is another Welsh name (hail-wen) meaning sunshine. It's very often paired with Haf (like halve) which means summer. Translates as summer sunshine. Heulwen Haf.

And I've spent the last year obsessing over baby names so I'm having a break. But obviously I also love the name Ivy :p

I honestly have no idea. All of the names I like Michael doesn't and all of the names he likes I don't. I have a feeling a child of ours is going to be named by drawing out of a hat.

Contenders for girl names:
Maddison Jane (I'm slowly falling in love with this...very much a top contender).
Adrianne ?????
Madeline/Adeline Claire

I really liked the name Cadence, but he vetoed that, so that's going to be my next dogs' name. Hahaha

I honestly don't remember what boy names we had kind of decided on. I have a huge list of names I like, but Michael vetoed almost all of them and I don't remember which. I do know he vetoed Benjamin, Isaac, and Thomas. Those were my favorites. Bah. Hahaha

Sloan was in the running for us but we want it as a boys name. It's my grandmas maiden name and was then used as a first name with some of her sisters sons.

I am going to pull everything out if our family tree. Lots of old names I love. We did not do that with Case but I told chaz he could pick. I love Irvin. Chaz says they'll get teased I said no way! Lol!

I am resigned to the fact well have all boys so I don't even pick out girl names!!

Similar boat here. DH is super picky about boy names, though girl names not so much. He's veto'd a number on my list.

Boys names are easier for me too -- I like Declan, Kaiden, Liam....gosh, I used to have a lot of favorites and now I can't remember any!

For girls, I really like Isabel.

No more planned babies here. But the last two names we were down do were Clive (which we went with, obviously :) ) and Cyrus (mainly because I wanted to call the kiddo Cy, lol) I also liked Clark....apparently I only like C names...

We didn't have a huge list of girl names, although I like Dean as a girl's middle name. I do like Olive quite a lot :)

I'm a huge etymology nerd so spend tons of time researching naming trends, how names can affect employment, the names people love and hate to have...and I have to say so far this thread is ok but past Chaz human name threads have given me a heart attack lol.

Names I love:
Beatrix
Aurelia
Aurora
Marisol
Ariadne
Annabel
June
Iris
Valentina

Henry
Sawyer
Elias
Darius
Milo

I find girl's names way easier, actually. It's tough to agree with SO who likes trendier, more common names, which are ok but not something I'd choose. No one likes being 1 of 6 Ariana's in their class, but no one likes having to spell their name 7 times a week or having to correct someone reading it, either.

I tend to like nature names or unusual old fashioned names. I really like names like Henrietta, Eglantine, Jemima, etc but they're tough to use today, depending on the area. I think using family names is really great, too. People like to have a story behind their name other than "mom liked it".

Names are so hard... and I change favorites way too often :p I have some favorites... though SO already veto'ed some, even though children are way off in the futur. ;) I also want to find names that sound good in German & Englisch, because I want to speak english with them, while SO speaks German with them... not as easy as it sound. :(

Names aren't really in a order

Girls:

Inga
Ronja (I like this name in German, but I don't really like it in English, also SO doesn't really like the name, so it'll prob. be a dog name. ;) )
Ella (got too popular)
Manon
Falon (Sounds good in english, but not in german )
Annika
Camille

Boys:

Aaron (this one is basically agreed upon)
Jacob
Emil

For a girl:
Daniella Lee
Lilianna Rae

For a boy:
Jacob Weston
Dustin Riley

I am still torn between Croatian spelling and English...but I think English will be easier on them in the long run.

I like classic names, obviously. With our last name ending with the 'e' sound though, I couldn't use some of my favorite names because they end up with the same sound and it would just have been weird. I can't complain though as my husband was ok with my two favorite names (Christopher and Elizabeth).

Anyway, girls

Kelsey
Emily
Paige
Laura
Clarke

Boys

Nicholas
Mark

I'm boring.

This has been a big debate in our household of late ;) Not really, we mostly agree. I didn't bring my lists in with me to work so I might get on later and post...We aren't finding out the gender of our baby (hopefully) so we have a list for boys and girls.

Middle names are picked either way.

Liam Grayson
Kian Grayson
Kieran Grayson

Obviously slightly Irish theme going there ;)

Girls...

Aria Rose
Olivia Rose
Noel Rose

I adore the name Isabeau but DH hates it :( I think "Bo" for a nickname is ADORABLE.

I would love to find a name with a cree or iroquois background, but I haven't been able to find one I love yet.
Unfortunately so many Iroquois names died out. My iroquois great grandma was Una but that was from another native language. Her mom was Sadie and grandma was Rebecca lol. The natives where they were adopted English names fast :( Una means "one who remembers" in whatever language it's from.

Genessee and Skenandoa are the only Iroquois names I know that might be workable in an English area. The rest are too complex. My favorite Native American names from other languages are Aponi, Nayeli, and PocohontAs. I'd use the first two lol. Pocohontas means one who runs and plays <3

For a girl we were pretty much set on Eleonore.

Boy names were much much harder for us... On our list we had besides Finley (which we ended up using)

Oliver (his middle name)
Theodore
Jude (but than would have been weird in German)
Calvin
I really liked Henry and Harrison but our last name starts with an H, too.
Other names I liked were Maximilian and Benjamin but they are way to popular.
