Just read where they will be showing this weekend at the Houston Reliant Park World Series of Dog Shows. I can't wait to meet one of these giants.

I have met a lot, actually. We stumbled into a leonberger picnic a few years back. I believe there were 26 dogs there but a couple were Newfoundlands/Landseers. They are a very gentle breed, very smart, beautiful, friendly....

Those dogs REALLY impressed me to the point that I might get one one day if I'm in the place for a giant dog. (It will be a LONG time) They do have a short lifespan like most giant breeds, so I'm not sure how I could handle the heartache.

ETA: Btw, the picnic we came across was when we lived in Houston.

I've met a couple at the dog park, they are just the most laid back, mellow dogs. I wouldn't mind having one some day, I think.

We have/had a member here, Houndedbyhounds, who has a female Leo named Cleo. Gorgeous, goofy girl.

Me wants! *puts on list for future dogs* I love giant breeds, the lifespan is short yes but they need love too. Besides their barking doesn't give my headaches (no offense to small dog owners intended).

Yep. Met one at the pet supply store a couple of years ago. And Caleb & I had one in our obedience classes. Well, sometimes two- the woman shows/breeds Leos, and sometimes would bring a couple with her. What easy going loves, and talk about expressive faces! They put Caleb to shame. I'd so consider one, if I just just convince hubby to have something other than Labs. BTW- there's a member here that has a Leo. ;)

I've met quite a few at different shows I've been at, and there were two at the dog park once. Beautiful dogs -- I absolutely love them! There size is about the only thing that might ever stop me from having one. I love giant breeds, but they aren't as portable as I like my dogs to be, haha.

I've met quite a few as well. I do really like their temperment compared to some of the other giant breeds. Very sweet, and a bit more of a "worker" with their owners than I've seen in a lot of the giants. Not a big fan of the size or the hair, but probably one of my favorites of that type.

I've met a few, they always have a special ging on at the UKC Premier so a lot come out. The Estrela Mountain Dogs were constantly getting confused as Leos even though the only thing that is similar is coat colour LOL They're big and loveable and a lot of dog!
